Chereads / The legacy of Forest witches. / Chapter 2 - A farm.

Chapter 2 - A farm.

Through the trees, a little girl could be seen, The moonlight lit her up, as she watched her surroundings carefully. She had fresh clothes, she was eatin' dry meat, and was sitting near a tent. Near a small stream, all that you were able to here was the occasional ruffle from animals or the ssshhhh of the stream. But this ruffle could also be the people after her....

Makie warily looked around her again. Still deciding on wether she should turn to a moon elf, or be a common animal. What she picked, she also had their abilites and not just their looks. That's why forest witches could be anything, from a speck of dust to a giant.

She resolved to a moon elf, but not the elf wings, for moon elves don't have them. she walked back into her tent, transforming. Her ears turned sharper, and longer, her hair turned a beautiful white, and she grew horns. Her clothing changed, with a cloak, two dagger engravings on a sheath, and two moonlit daggers.

She also grew in size, but temporaily, she could only keep this up for a day, and she kept this size so she looked older, unlikely to arouse suspision.(You may think I didn't need to put the size stuff there, because of the giant description, but giants have their own size of whats normal. They call them giants for a reason.)

' ' This will do, in the night, I'm stronger anyway, and the day. Unlike day elves. ' ' she moves to her tent, since the night was naturally cold, it didn't bother her, meaning there was no need of a fire.

She tried to sleep, but the presence of the books disturbed her somehow. Maybe it was because she was a moon elf, her senses sharper. Or maybe It was because she did not have anything else. Or maybe she felt a link to them. Or maybe she noticed them. Or maybe she was curios. Or maybe because she thought they were magical. Or maybe she felt her mother around them, though not there. And maybe all those is why she did what she did next.

...

' ' Father, you are home! ' ' A little moon elf boy would exclaim. Behind him was a tall woman, still a moon elf. Next to her, at her legs, was another little elf child, this time a girl.

' ' I know, sometimes the alpha team can be annoying. maybe I should have picked beta or omega ' '

' ' Your job is to regain our land and find new ones. For a new home. We are dying! ' ' The woman said, gesturing out to the neighborhood. Quite different from humans. Trees, trees were there homes, but this looked like a home for locals, Where they really live is Argatha.

' ' Don't need a reminder, I really do miss home. These humans annoy me. We need to stop this before it takes anyone else I love. ' ' He walked in, closing the door behind him.

...

Makie woke up to the sound of shouting, she could see shadows outside of her tent. immidently, she threw her books to the far corner, hoping they won't see her.

' ' I'm sure that girl's in here! ' ' she could hear, the shadows moving. She got on her best act, and opened the tent. Her mouth had a grim line, as she was trying to look mad and serious. ' Those two guys and a knight?' she looked at the guy in armor.

' ' Oi, what'cha doing 'ere? ' ' she changed her voice to speak like a..a.... Well, she wasn't happy with that voice, she choose a different one instead. . ' ' Hello, is that real? ' ' One of them asked.

' ' Hell no, why do I need to speak properly to humans? ' ' she was a good actor.

' ' Have you seen a girl, a forest witch perhaps? ' ' The bald guy asked, looking smug. He was sure he could beat her. He was sure she was weak. ' We'll see ' she thought.

she got up stepping out as they backed away, all the animals through the trees were silent, knowing what would happen. But they also knew that was not even a real elf.

Makie took out her moon lit daggers, she already advanced on the guy in armor and her dagger was already through the peephole of his helmet before anyone knew what was happening. She wasn't a good fighter, and only had little experience with it, but you could guess why she is good. She spun slamming the hilt against the bald guys compainoin's head. She spun again, narrowly avoiding a roundhouse kick as she created a thine line of read on his stomach.

Then she slammed it into his stomach, as his belly button wasn't seen anymore. (yes, he wasn't wearing a shirt) ' ' I peirced your navel, now that should shut you up. ' ' She learned a little bit about moon elves, as she looked around, she could see the three dead bodies she killed. sighing, she went back to normal size, still a moon elf, but now a kid, as she packed up getting ready to go.

...

' ' You say a moon elf killed these outlaws? ' ' A man, sitting on a throne with a crown, stroked his beard. He hand gold rings on each finger and toe, with gems on them. His clothing was expensive, and a man was in front of him, telling him the scene he watched.

' ' The woman also turned into a child once she was done, your honor. ' ' The man would bow.

The king stopped, getting serious, he sat at the edge of his throne. ' ' That could only be a forest witch, they are extremely rare. Though i wonder... ' '

' ' Follow it but stay put of sight, we need more information. ' ' He called for someone, an assasain, dark skin, dreds, shaven beard, and ordinary clothes. He had a sword though.

' ' thank you, your Royal Highness. ' ' he walked out of the room, as the king snickered, thinking up a plan.

...

As Makie trudged, she kept having second thoughts of doing this. 'But i must make it to Argatha, i'll be safe there!' That's where all the magical creatures reside.

Animals and magical creatures scurried around her, just living and making their day. A rock giant stepped infront of her, walking into the dense trees of the forest of argatha. She walked for a month, and she is only at the outskirts. Once she gets in there, she is safe, and will be able to live without human interface.

'My mother is also there for a trip, but she never came back...'

Makie shook her head. Now it's not the time to dwell on those, she thought.

She weaved throw shallow water and hopped on rocks, twirling and twisting around. She resolved to be a kid, because children always see stuff adults miss. And plus, she wants to have fun on her journey.

She kept walking, before meeting a giant tree. Butting her hand on the bark, it felt like an old ancient tree, dripping with magic. Fairies came out from their hiding places to see her, and they looked like little firefly's sorrounding her. ' ' sinking your roots into nature is great. ' ' she moved her feet on the grass, as the breeze refreshed her. The tree shook, as she looked up, she could see a wary smile, and two old eyes that looked like they would fall off every time moved.

' ' Hello little one.. who might you be? Or should I say, Forest witch? ' ' She was stunned, but then again, why was she suprised?

' ' How do you know i'm not a elf? ' ' She asked, getting up on a rock wedged into the ground, and she could see the tree better.

' ' Nature is the building block of all things, and you can't escape magic. Now, what is your name? ' ' The tree asked, it's gentle smile soothed Makie, and she answered without hesitation.

' ' My name is Makie. ' ' she said looking up at the tree. ' ' Who are you? ' '

' ' No need, no need. ' ' the tree said, bending down to see her.

' ' NO time now, go on your way, if you meet my father, he'll tell you everything! ' ' The tree said with worriness in his voice.

' ' What coming? ' ' She said, looking into the endless trees.

' ' Just go! ' ' The tree said.

and she ran.
