Tekashi fell back as the pillar of flame burst into an explosion. As the cinders erupted through the air, he looked for traces of Marlin's demise in their fall.
"Was he…" Tekashi said shaking his head. "Completely destroyed by the attack…"
The flames continued to roar as Tekashi had a moment of silence for his opponent.
"Marlin" He said. "You were truly an amazing-"
"The way of the shinobi is never direct!" Tekashi heard behind him. "A ninja must strike using the most obscure of methods!"
Marlins flaming swords ripped through the air, coming inches of reaching Tekashi's body. Dodging and jumping back onto the wall, Tekashi rebounded, amazed by Marlins survivability. As he planted his feet on the wall he felt a type of sludge land on them.
"Wait a minute" Tekashi said. "This is!"
"Flamberg!" Marlin cried sticking his blade of flames into the wall.
As he struck the wall, flames spread out all across it, leading to Tekashi's feet.
