Red's eyes widened with shock. She can't seem to comprehend what the Faey Court Roman had said. What did the Queen Tiana mean when she said they don't help her?
"Why would Queen Tiana let herself die without a fight?" Red asked.
Faey Court Roman looked at Red with eyes of great sorrow, "Because the late Faey Queen Tiana knows her fate is to die in the hands of the Darkling. She knows what she is doing, and she knows there is no use for her to fight. She had done everything to prolong his return."
"But it doesn't make sense at all!" Red raised her voice. "There must have been a way! She had kept the Darkling alive for millenniums. Why couldn't he be killed instead?"
There was a collective succession of gasps and whispers as Red raised the question she had always wanted to ask.
Why couldn't they get rid of the Darkling all these years if he was meant to bring the Faey Kingdom destruction? What was the reason he had been locked up instead?
