Archer was floating. The heaviness of yesterday had finally passed away and now he felt as light as a feather.
Somehow, everything around him was peaceful and the ache that had pounded into his skull had finally subsided with rest. Light danced around his closed lids and he shifted to get away from the annoying flashes.
Archer sluggishly opened his eyes and his vision began to sharpen, his mind was a bit groggy but in time became alert that he wasn't in a place he knew.
He turned his head from side to side and noticed the white-washed walls of what looked like a hospital. There were a few others like him who were resting in similar looking beds and he realized that he was probably in the palace infirmary.
What happened? Last thing he remembered was that he had been running away from a palace guard but why was he in the infirmary?
