Stella Marie opened her eyes and she saw faces were hovering above her. She could sense that they were calling out to her name just by the way their mouths moved, but the little girl couldn't hear anything.
Her ears didn't catch the sound that they made.
All that she could sense was the light was too bright, and that she was laid down on something soft, with the coldness of the floor still seeping through and touching her back.
Slowly, there was a ringing that echoed around her and it steadily rose into a crescendo with a cacophony of mashed up sounds.
The little girl eventually could make out the sounds that formed broken words, which by then turned into complete sentences.
"Lala, can you hear us?"
"Stella Marie Celestiana… little girl, tell us what you saw."
"She's not breathing regularly… does this happen often when she tries to look into people's memories?"
