Stella Marie played her innocent and cute card against the two adult women that rushed inside the room. She fiddled with the hem of her skirt, pouted a little bit, and said, "I'm sorry. We were just playing."
Dorothy Cane hid the journal behind her back and sweat accumulated on her temples. Stella Marie could see that the lady was very careful for Lilian not to notice. She turned in such a way that the journal was out of Lilian's sight.
"Red, Lala, you must learn that it isn't good to snoop around and touch other people's belongings," Lilian chastised the girls.
Little Red was beginning to tear up and Stella Marie could tell she was going to bawl anytime soon.
The woman tutted and escorted the girls outside of Dorothy's room as the older woman arranged her things back neatly inside the drawer.
