There was a long pregnant pause before Red's mind quickly went into overdrive. She suddenly became conscious that despite her earlier resolve to give Archer some slack, she had actually come off as mean and short-tempered.
'Oh, shit.' Red cursed in her head. 'My attitude had gotten the better of me again.'
She really needed to work on her mean attitude.
She waited for Archer to pick on her like he always did and she gazed into his handsomely chiseled face. It didn't occur to Red that the man-child had actually looked thinner than he used to be due to the fact that the dungeons had been so dimly lit.
His eyes had actually sunk a bit and there were dark undertones to his eyes. He looked tired and exhausted, the brightness of his emerald iris dimmed, and she pondered why he had such an impassive expression in his face.
Archer's heart swelled from seeing Red was still the same feisty girl that she was.
