Fifteen years had past and though i had a normal life that doesn't mean that it was normal in fact it was anything but normal. the only friend i had was jake. he and i had been friends since we were playing in the sandbox as our parents were childhood friends. but life still didn't feel normal not completely i could feel i wasn't like everyone else and i didn't fit in here. but i was hoping my sixteenth birthday would change that. i still had a weird feeling about it all though. i felt antsy. such a weird word but its how i felt weird. jake on the other hand of course couldn't stop talking about my 16th. Even my parents started to act weird. we were eating dinner and the whole time we sat around it was quiet where there was usually talking and laughter. maybe the too were worried about my birthday. but what they were hiding was more then i could imagine.
After i got full of food and the awkward silence i excused myself and headed up to my room. i brushed my teeth and changed into my nightgown. i climbed in my warm bed under the soft embrace of the blankets and pillows. but some how i still found myself tossing and turning beneath the sheets. i wasn't sure why. but i kept hearing multiple voices calling out to me. voices i hadn't heard but its like i have heard. one voice stood out the most it was almost like i could put a face to it. when i closed my eyes i saw this cute looking guy. with sweet kind brown eyes. he whispered in my ear.
"Till we see each other again lil sister." that voice kept playing on repeat in my head i found myself staring at the ceiling for what seemed like forever. i jumped and was broken from my trance when there was a knock on the door as my mother and father came in the room with jake trailing behind them.
"we thought we would be the first to wish you a happy birthday" they all said together screaming at the happy birthday part. i looked at them and they had somethings behind their backs.
I watch as Jake steps up and holds out a Small box it looked like a box a ring came in and surprise it was a ring. the band was angel wings and it had a green stone. almost the color of my eyes. that where framed by fiery red hair that had gotten to where it cascaded down to my ankles i always kept it up in a wavy pony tail.
i pulled the ring out and i looked at jake, "its its not what you think it is Aysha hear me out. this ring is a promise to always be by your side as i hope you would always be by mine. its a reminder of the way i feel about you. i am sorry i never told you but i fallen for you over the years. i hope you feel the same about me"
then i looked up and my parents presented me with a bigger flat box that not only had the most beautiful necklace you could imagine. but it had two envelopes. i picked the necklace up as i unclasped it and held it to my neck ready to clasp it on when i feel hands reach out to do it for me looking in the mirror jake was smiling at me. i turn to look at my parents and my mother had one of the envelopes the newer looking one. she said here open this. its from us. i looked back at them then down at the envelope. but to my surprise there wasn't just a letter in there. i pulled out the letter first and i dropped it when my eyes skimmed over it. the letter read:
Dearest Daughter,
your reading this because we feel like your old enough now to understand.
We are sorry this had to be in a letter but we thought you would like to keep it as a reminder of our love for you. though your not our real daughter your the best gift we could ever have asked and its been an honor getting to watch you grow we hope that your feelings for us aren't any less because we always loved you as the daughter you are to us. there is more but we can talk about the details and such later.
with love always
Gen and Greg
i dumped the envelope and inside was a key. i wasn't sure what else they could have in store for me so i just stared at them speechless. "Mom, Dad. even though your not my birth parents that will never change the way i feel for the both of you. it has been a Privilege knowing you both as well. but what is this?" i asked them holding up the key.
"Come with us and we will show you." my father finally spoke up as he and my mother proudly led me to the garage. expecting to see my moms Suv and my fathers truck they lead me further down the isle and at the far end was the car i always wanted a purple and black Lamborghini. my mouth just dropped as i slid my hands over the smooth cold side of the car. "this.....this is mine?" i asked shocked. i still had the other envelope in my hands. as i opened the door and inside the car was black and purple leather seats. it was beautiful and the seats where so lush. i slid in and turned it on as i listened to it purr. jake sliding in beside me.
i look down and the other envelope calls to me as i reach for it. i open the seal and inside was not one, no not even two but you guessed it three letters in beautifully written swirls and curls. but there was one letter that stood out to me like it was calling to me the loudest. as i pulled it from the others.
Dearest lil sister

I looked up at my mother and father and i took both their hands in my own and looked into their eyes. "I am going to meet my brother wish me luck?" i asked more of a question as i started my car. as they nodded.
