Chapter 16 - A Heart Warming Present From Olivia

(Author: Note these few changes! 1. Origin Energy would have to be refined into Spirit Energy which would be then infused Into the soul when cultivating.

2. While during tempering of the body, Origin Energy would have to be refined into Vital Energy before it can be fused into the body in order to strengthen it)

Upon returning home, Joshua lazily placed down the items he had purchased earlier from Solomon's Pavilion at a random corner in the parlor without bothering to carefully sort them out. After all, he will be making use of them starting from tomorrow.

Preparing and eating his recently favourite meal for dinner, Joshua washed up and went to bed with his mind filled with feelings of anticipation towards his upcoming trip to a Low-Grade Wildzone accompanyed by Olivia.

Without any intention of cultivating tonight, Joshua slowly fell asleep.

******

On the following morning, Joshua woke up a bit earlier than usual and went for his morning jog before getting ready when he came back by having his bath, getting dressed in his usual unranked combat attire, hanging his backpack together with other luggages and his low rank Tier 1 wooden made pole artifact on his back.

After which, he then left the house and took a carriage towards the village southern gate.

"Took you long enough Joshua" Olivia soft and feminine voice of complain was immediately heard by Joshua the very instant he stepped out of the carriage and turned back to pay off it's driver.

Although he had noticed a slight change in the way she usually refers to him, Joshua didn't read too much into it but responded with a chuckle and said "Hehe, if memory serves me well, there's still around a couple of minutes left untill our agreed time. So, how is it now my fault that you were too damn early".

"Why you petty... Humph!" Olivia started complaining at first but quickly stopped and snorted before walking away upon noticing that there wasn't anything wrong with what Joshua had just said.

Witnessing this, Joshua smiled and silently followed her without uttering another word. Together, they arrived in front of one of the groups of soldiers in charge of maintaining security at the southern gate where all Olivia did was to flash them a command token and they were immediately escorted outside.

Joshua however, had also taken notice of the looks of respect and reverence that had surfaced on each of these soldiers faces the very moment they layed eyes on Olivia command token and this once again solidified his conviction about her background.

But making the same decision as before, he didn't inquire about it.

"Here, I want you to have this and in return I will be claiming around 50% of all the loots you'll be gaining on this our few days trip" Said Olivia while handing out a shinning silver colored 2inches wide bracelet to Joshua who was just about to summon "Astra" his Tamed Beast.

Caught a little off guard by this unexpected present, Joshua had to study the bracelet for a few seconds in order to recognise it before finally asking Olivia with a doubtful tone "Hey.... is this what I'm thinking it really is?"

"Yes..... That's a 3*3 square metres storage bracelet I'm giving to you as a thank you present for becoming my friend or you could see as a form of payment for accompanying me over the next couple of days. Accept any one which suit's your ego as a man better" replied Olivia as she looked away in an attempt to hide the fact that she was now seriously blushing.

After hearing her words, Joshua didn't dare to voice out his thoughts of refusal any longer as his heart soon became filled with feelings of gratitude while he happily wore the bracelet and said "Thank you".

Though it is true that the total amount of time Joshua had spent in this world wasn't even up to two weeks, he had already caught up on most of the common knowledge known usually by people his age within the village because he not only depended on the previous Joshua memories which he had inherited but he had also been partially influenced by his leftover soul into a developing a habit of spending most of his free period in the academy at the library reading.

Thanks to this, Joshua had an idea of roughly how much it would cost to buy a storage bracelet just like the one Olivia had gifted him. Although it was a bit inferior in quality when compared to a storage ring, it was still a High Rank Tier 1 Supportive Artifact with a price range of around a 100 to a 150 gold coins.

This was an amount of money Joshua had no hope of gaining anytime soon until he became a Rank Five Beast Apprentice at the very least.

After all, it is only after he have advanced into such a Rank and begin tempering his body with Vital Energy would he become capable of spending a long period of time inside a Wildzone hunting numerous Mid Rank Common Grade Beast without over straining his body.

Until then, any ambition of earning a huge amount of money had to be buried deep with his heart.

Storing both his weapon and backpack inside the storage bracelet, Joshua proceeded to summon "Astra" who appeared a second later with her head raised up and her slim long tongue flickering about as she kept on stretching and contracting her 5½ metres long body.

Sensing Joshua's thought without him having to utter a word, she slithered forward and lead the way into the ancient looking forest of the wilderness while Joshua followed right behind her together with Olivia who at some point without his notice taken out an elegant looking longbow she now held in her hands, plus a quiver full of arrows hung on her back.

Although Olivia didn't summon her Tamed Beast, Joshua already knew that her reason for not doing so was because this is meant to be a training trip for him therefore having a High Rank Common Grade Tamed Beast who's aura alone was enough to deter away every other Common Grade Beast of lesser Rank tag along him would defeat the very purpose of the whole trip.

Then again, since he is already being protected by a Rank Seven Beast Apprentice who's capable of unleashing far range attacks, he shouldn't be afraid of losing his life to any Common Grade Beast weaker than Olivia they encounter unless she will's it.

And thus, the three of them enjoyed a danger free journey through the ancient like forest without running into a single Beast, not even an unranked one.

Nevertheless, such a situation was to be expected due to the existence of the Guardian Corps of Tree Village Milltary who's soul duty were to patrol the surrounding wilderness of the village, either killing or driving away any Beast they come across regardless of it's Grade and Rank.

Thanks to them, the area of the wilderness between Tree Village and it's surrounding Wildzones became somewhats like a safe zone for all the inhabitants of the village.

Though they were usually times when one or two Low Rank Common Grade Beast would cross into this safe zone from a nearby Wildzone, they would be immediately hunted down and killed by soldiers from the Guardian Corps.

After spending over an hour walking through the forest, Joshua and Olivia now stood in front of a large valley filled with hills, streams, flower trees and many other wonderful creations of nature that extended as far as their eyes could see.

Laying eyes on such a sight, Joshua couldn't help but stare at it with eyes and mouth opened wide as he subconsciously muttered "Beautiful".

"I know, right! If only it wasn't a Mid-Grade Wildzone, it would have been a very nice place for a vacation" Said Olivia with a mesmerising smile as she walked forward and stood beside Joshua in order to get a better view of the scenery.

Her words however, had scared the shit out of Joshua. Causing him to stammer in shock as he asked her again just to be confirm if he hadn't missed heard her "Mi.... Mid-Grade Wildzone???"
