Chapter 2 - Acknowledgments Of Soul Fusion

Tagging along as the group made their way back to the village, Joshua who had quickly come to terms with his current situation was trying his possible best to through all the memories he had inherited from his present body previous owner who unexpectedly bore the same name as he did, in order to easily blend in without raising any suspicion.

Within it, he discovered a lot of amazing things such; The size of this world if compared to planet Earth was over twenty times larger, it was also made up of fifty percent land and fifty percent water.

Plus, in this world, be it in the forest, or in the mountains, or even in the seas, everywhere was beaming with Beasts of all kinds as they were the true owners of this world while humans were just a miserable race struggling to survive on it.

The only reason the human race hasn't gone extinct yet was due to their unique type of cultivation which transforms the cultivator into a Beast Tamer.

Unlike the Beast of this world, humans are naturally incapable of passively absorbing the origin energy present in this world atmosphere to continuously refine their body an evolve into a higher type of lifeform.

Therefore, after numerous years of research and practice by their ancestors. They had figured out a unique way to actively absorb this said origin energy, refine it by circulating it through some specific nerve and blood vessels within the human body call meridian before fusing it into the soul.

And with a stronger soul, such an individual will naturally gain the ability to tame and control different kinds of Beasts.

Only through the aid of their Tamed Beast were humans able to secure for themselves a small chance for survival on this cruel and dangerous world.

After an individual soul power becomes strong enough to contain a soul fragment of a Rank One Common Grade Beast, he or she would be formally recognised as a rank one Beast Apprentice.

The Beast Apprentice realm was also further divided into nine ranks with one being the lowest and nine the highest, above that was the Beast Master realm which was the realm the middle aged man, Mr Simon was in.

As a Beast Master, Mr Simon wasn't only one of the head teachers in Tree village Intermediate Beast Apprentice academy, he was also a part time supervisor of this Low grade wildzone north of Tree village.

Even though it was just a Wildzone of the Lowest Grade, many people still lost their lives in it every now and then since it was also filled with countless Beast possessing different types of Innate abilities.

An example of such a Beast would be the Vanishing Serpent he had mistaken for a brown cobra earlier.

Although it was only a Rank One Common Grade Beast which was equivalent to a rank one Beast Apprentice like himself, the Vanishing Serpent Innate ability made it capable of camouflaging itself in any type of environment and this in turn, turned it into the best assasin within this Low Grade Wildzone.

An additional example of another dangerous Beast easily found within this Low Grade Wildzone was the Common Grade Wildcats which were usually Rank One at birth, Rank Two at adolescent and finally Rank Three at adulthood.

Different from that of the Vanishing Serpent, the Innate ability of these Wildcats lied in their high agility and sharp claws capable of easily ripping through the flesh and bones of any Beast Apprentice below Rank Five.

As for why? This was because every Beast Apprentice who reaches Rank Five would naturally comprehend how to refine their bodies with a certain percentage of every origin energy they absorb during cultivation.

However, where there was danger, there was also opportunity. An example of such was the stalk of Dusk Flower harvested earlier by his female classmate, Mary Benson which after being processed by an alchemist and dropped in the eyes every morning and evening for twenty one days would grant the user Elementary Night Vision ability.

All these surprising discoveries did nothing but ignited Joshua's passion for his unknown future In this new world.

Struggling t keep his emotions in check, he steadily followed along with eyes and a heart full of expectations.

One hour later, the finally walked out of the forest, allowing Joshua to lay eyes on the ten meters tall wooden wall which surrounded Tree village on all four corners.

Within these wall, stood a five meters tall and four meters wide metal door which was completely opened, allowing numerous carriages pulled by different kinds of Beasts to step in after each check up.

Handling these check ups was a squad of the village milltary made up of ten soldiers who all appeared to be rank four and above Beast Apprentice because of the one and a half metres tall and over two metres long gray furred wolves which stood beside each of them.

Unlike Joshua and his classmates who were grown in a green house, every Beast Apprentice of the village milltary was a battle harden expert who could easily wipe the floor with three or four students of the same rank.

"Seems like there's more to being a powerful Beast Tamer than just attaining a higher rank and realm" muttered Joshua in a low voice after silently observing the soldiers of the village milltary for a short while.

Walking just a couple of meters behind Joshua was Olivia who easily heard his words due to her rank seven Beast Apprentice cultivation, causing her to once again silently observe him as she thought inwardly; "How could someone such as him have no note worthy achievement but is rather seen as a waste? That's strange!"

Unware of the doubts his words had planted in young lady's mind, Joshua quietly separated from the group and made his way home through his inherited memories.

Joshua house was a shabby wooden cottage comprising only of a room and parlor, kitchen, bathroom and a small veranda at it's entrance.

The entire house and land measured around thirty meters only and was situated at the edge of the village, just a few meters away from it's wooden wall.

Stepping inside his house, Joshua made his way straight to the kitchen, picked up some pieces of frozen horned rabbit meat from a wooden barrel covered in strange runes and sliced into smaller pieces before throwing them inside a pot and placing the pot above a stove.

Horned rabbit meat was the most popular Common Grade Beast meat circulating in the market for the citizens of Tree village. Not only were they easy to rear because of their strong reproductive system and survival rate despite being Unranked, their meat also tasted very delicious when eaten.

Joshua then proceed to slice some golden carrots, brass leaves, green pepper and one or two other commonly used cooking ingredients and threw into the pot before leaving it to boil.

Bringing down the pot half an hour later and pouring out it's content into a large bowl, Joshua had just sat down on a chair and was ready to dig in when series of holographic words appeared floating on mid-air in front of him.

[Horned Rabbit Soup]

Quality: Common

Rank: One

Origin Energy: 10

Description: Contains enough amount of calories to keep the body well feed and prevent starvation but is highly lacking in origin energy.

"What the hell is this?"

Unable to believe what he was seeing, Joshua rubbed his eyes a few times in order to confirm if he wasn't seeing things and to his surprise, he wasn't.

Going through this holographic words over and over again while contemplating about the reason for it appearance as he ate his dinner.

Joshua finally remembered a rumour his body previous owner had a few years ago about the existence of a 0.1% chance of awakening an innate ability the very moment a person advances into a Rank One Beast Apprentice.

Not even in his wildest dreams would have the previous Joshua expected that he who hadn't been able to advance into a Rank One Beast Apprentice despite having cultivated fit over five long years would fall among those extremely lucky set of Beast Apprentice that awakens an innate ability immediately after advancing into Rank One.

And that his innate ability would be so overpowering that it would cause his soul to shatter and fall apart since it was incapable of withholding such an ability.

But as the universe would have it, Joshua from Earth had also lost his life at that very moment and this in turn lead to the fusion of his own soul and what was left of the shattered Joshua soul before transmigrating into the most optimal body belonging to either of them which in this case, was his current body.

Speculating up to this point, Joshua couldn't help but exclaim with a lot voice "So that's why I easily came to terms with my Transmigration into a strange world without panicking because I am Joshua and Joshua is also me, for we are both one and the same down to our very soul".

At the end of his words, instantly, another series of holographic words appeared floating on mid-air in front of him, stunting him the very moment he layed eyes on it.
