Carmel felt a sharp sting as a female doctor's voice calmingly said, "We're injecting you with the anesthesia. After you're sedated, we'll begin the cryogenic fluids, and when you wake up next, we'll conduct a series of tests and conclude the experiment. Remember to stay calm; keep your breathing steady. You should be starting to get sleepy. Take a deep breath…" She felt another sharp sting. "Inhale… Exhale…" Carmel closed her eyes as the sound of the doctor faded away.

She found it ironic that the doctor told her to stay calm; she hadn't been anything but the entire procedure. She had volunteered for the experiment when she first saw the advertisement online. She was the youngest of the test group and had a hard time receiving a letter of acknowledgement from her school. It was only a week… Slowly, her thoughts faded away, too.

She awoke with a start, to the sound of splashing water, completely soaked. "Where… am I…?"

She definitely wasn't in the hospital anymore, so where? "E-eeeeek!" She turned her head to look at the woman who had screamed and dropped the vase she had been carrying. The glass shattered, water and flowers everywhere. A man, dressed as if he were a knight in a historical drama, ran into the room, probably having heard the woman's scream. "T-there…! That…! That girl just appeared in the fountain of Ephyr!" She pointed a shaky hand towards Carmel.

Carmel calmly watched the woman as she climbed out the fountain and squeezed water from her hair. Only to realize she was completely naked. She had been instructed to remove her clothing for the experiment. Whoever had brought her here obviously hadn't seen fit to clothe her first. Her face reddened as she looked at the definitely male knight and the woman. It was too late. They had seen her naked, so she did the next most logical thing. She took a few steps toward the table in front of the fountain she had just climbed out of, removed the books, candles, and other miscellaneous objects, and wrapped the table cloth around herself.

Seemingly snapping out of his confusion, he shouted, "Halt! You're intruding in a Holy Church of Ephyr! Surrender yourself!" He felt more than a little foolish, attempting arrest on a scared little girl… Even if the scared little girl in question didn't seem that scared.
