In a field of old burnt trees, a flicker of light green swirls above a musky dirty pond. The water below the strange round light ripples due to the Zepher's presence as a figure cloaked in black and two in leather brown fall on top of the pond. Landing on her feet and bracing her fall with a single palm Kknoir took a breath to make sure her legs were steady before standing with a grimace. Yamir hands her a cloth to wipe her hands with which she took with a nod of thanks before looking around them. Murky memories like that of the pond below her haunt her memories, that night was a blurry mess, but she could not forget the cries of her people and the screams of the humans that day.
The forest use to be full of wisteria trees...until it was burnt down by her father, who refused to let them use this home for their own selfish desires. No one had quarreled or blamed him for it. After all, this world, this land, was no longer home. Only the Zepher remained. "We have long gathered the seeds that dropped before burning them down, Master Kknoir does not need to be sad. Those trees have been replanted in the Zepher and are thriving."
"I know." Handing the cloth back to him she strolls towards the shore calmly, "Let's go." He doesn't say anything else about the sad-looking forest around them and follows after her obediently, Sahara was the first to speak. She took out a necklace with a blue scale resembling a fish's that seemed to still be wet despite being out of water. Kknoir could sense a small amount of power in the necklace and assumes it was enchanted. "Master Kknoir, please put this on."
Kknoir took it from her and puts it on before hiding it under the tight tunic she wore, she was not wary of Sahara since she knew the other wyvern would not hurt her. The woman explains after Kknoir placed it around her neck, "It's an illusion spell we acquired from the Sirens. Those who do not share our blood cannot see our true appearance." Kknoir stops in place and gave Sahara a chilly look, "So we look like ordinary humans?" Sahara could see the hatred and disgust in the young wyvern's expression and did not nod right away as she debated whether it would be better to lie to her or not.
But Yamir could see and understand the scout's thoughts and honestly answers for her. "This is the safest option we have these days, please understand the circumstances, Master." Kknoir sent her sharp glare onto him but she wordlessly continued on their path without another word of complaint much to his relief. When the young Wyvern could not see, he sent Sahara a sharp glance warning her to never lie to the young wyvern. "She is a future elder, do not underestimate her potential as our Master. When given logic she will act properly and not be childish."
It was how Azar was. Sahara knew her mistake and gave him a thankful expression, "I will not cultivate such thoughts again." Although she was not as used to this form compared to her wyvern form Kknoir did not panic or throw a tantrum for not being able to fly. Being on the outside meant she had to comply with the rules set by the scouts and elders for her best interest and safety. Very soon they made it to the end of the burnt forest and into lush woods which was separated by a long road she assumes the humans had made after their home burnt down.
Other than a few abandoned carts around them she did not see much but some birds here or there who gave her curious looks of wonder. She could even hear them gossip like the little beasts they were while gathering on the branches above her. 'That is a Wyvern is it not? Is it not?' 'It is! It is! Look at her fierce eyes!' 'Look! Look! Look at her fangs! How frightening!' 'How frightening!' 'How frightening!'
They echo with each other huddling together, despite their words they were rather cheerful seeing the three disguised wyverns. Although the enchantment worked on intelligent creatures, some were immune to such tricks. Those with stronger animalistic tendencies and instincts could easily peer past their disguises. In answer to the gossip, Kknoir lifts a finger to offer as a perch which they fight to take eagerly. A lovely sparrow won the battle and happily fluffs its feathers on her finger while greeting her enthusiastically.
'Hello, sister!' The ones who could not take the perch fly around her while lamenting and vocally expressing their grievances. Kknoir ignores the ones who brush against her hood and shoulders in an attempt to get her to fly with them after losing the perch to the little bird. "How many humans and dragons have been spotted along these roads?" The sparrow chirps to answer her happily, 'Sister about half a day ago some humans drove a cart full of metallic-smelling items to the western coast.' The ones around her stop complaining and echo the sparrow's words like children.
'Western coast!' 'Western coast!' Kknoir presents the sparrow a wisteria flower making its eyes shine brightly before it hurriedly swallows the flower petals under the jealous gazes of its companions. 'Not fair!' 'Not fair!' Rubbing its head she thanks it before sending it off on its journey again. "Thank you little one, do not run into any hawks or snakes on your travels." 'Thank you, sister!' Expressing its thanks the sparrow took flight with its companions before disappearing behind the towering trees in front of her.
"If we follow this road it will take us to the nearby town that sells wild horses. Does Master Kknoir know how to ride one?" Ride a horse? Her nose crinkles at the thought of riding another beast but her reply was swift and dismissive. "You can teach me when the time comes." Yamir could see her disdain and although he shared her thoughts he had already gotten used to riding so he wasn't as disturbed by it as she was. Taking a clear but pinkish-colored candy from her pouch she eats the flower candy with appreciation before continuing on their walk. Following closely after was the scent of Wisteria flowers as well as the slight whispers of the wind. The two adults do the same, around the three hooded wyverns an even more noticeable sweet scent fills the air.
