After they had left the room Captain Fuchs went over to the intercom on the wall next to the doorway.
"We'll be back in half an hour, prepare for the demonstration before then or you'll be the demonstration."
"Of course Captain, who would you like to be brought in?"
"The rat we caught yesterday should work."
"Understood Captain. *click*"
"Well I shouldn't leave those two waiting." She then left, following after the girls who were chatting on their way to the medical bay. Upon arriving at the med-bay the girls sat down on a bed next to each other. None of the different nurses payed them any attention, due to how frequently they would come in.
"It's a good thing we can do this on our own," said Fauna.
"Yeah, but we shouldn't be so dependent on our powers," Flora remarked.
"Then what's the point of having them if we don't use them for everything?"
"We're suppose to only use them to better ourselves for the company's sake dummy."
"I know I know, lets just do this already! My body is aching all over."
"Alright, here give me your hand." As soon as the two sisters joined hands a faint glow began to appear around them, growing more intense as they both channeled their powers together. Quickly the wounds all across their bodies began to heal, the glowing seeming to condense around those points in particular. Not even a minute later were their wounds nothing but faint scratches.
"All patched up then?" asked Captain Fuchs. They both nodded. "Good, then it's time for you to eat." And with that they all headed towards the cafeteria.
"*sigh* I don't know why we're even here if those two can just heal all the different injuries that could come through that door," a nurse said. All the others simply nodded in agreement and went about their work.
When they entered the cafeteria almost no one was there, except a few researchers who were buried in stacks of paper with coffee cups littering the floor. The girls went to the line to receive their meals while Captain Fuchs found a table to rest at after getting herself a cup of tea.
"So what else are we going to do today to get ready for our first outing?" Fauna asked as she dug a spoon into the strange slop that they had called a meal for their entire lives.
"Oh just one little- well not so little lesson after this, then I'll be looking into taking your sister to the Garden."
"Really just one lesson and then we're ready to go and do things for the good of the company?"
"Yes, but it is going to be a very difficult lesson, one that will be hard to learn right away. Although now that I think about it, the boss did mention a way to make it easier for you two to learn."
"Really?! Does that mean we'd be able to leave sooner if we did it? Wait it isn't one of those things were you have two choices and one seems easier but is actually harder is it?"
"To answer your questions, in order yes, yes, and no, not it should be fairly easy to go through with but it is not the recommended route as you don't truly learn the lesson."
"I don't think we should take the easy way out Fauna. It'll be trouble later if we don't learn anything now," Flora interjected as she took another bite of her food. Fauna looked down and sighed, her sister could see she was weighing out the pros and cons in her head.
"Well... I guess you've got a point. Can I change my mind later if I can't figure out the lesson?"
"You could, but it might be less effective if you do so," Captain Fuchs said while sipping her tea looking over towards the researchers thinking about if she should order them to take a break or have them keep going.
"Ugh, why does this have to be so difficult to choose something?!" Fauna exclaimed as she dug deeper into her food.

Joshua was abruptly awakened with a kick to his already sore side. He groaned in pain as it felt like he had a lot of broken bones that were grinding against each other.
"Get up," a man in the enforcers uniform sneered, he looked agitated but compared to Joshua what should he be mad about.
"So, what's in store for me today? More beatings? Oh maybe you're just going to call me names and piss in my food again."
"As fun as those things would be, you're getting lucky. You're going to be a demonstration today which means your suffering ends today, as does your life of course."
"Ah, lucky me indeed. Suppose we shouldn't keep them waiting then," The guard grabbed Joshua's chains that kept his hands bound and began to pull him along out of the dark cell. As they walked through the repetitive halls Joshua couldn't help but be curious as to who he was going to be a demonstration, he extended his mind and allowed it to wander to his feet reaching into the concrete beneath him. The world began to quiet around him, falling away to darkness before it was complete silence, he felt the vibrations caused by his walking extend beyond the walls. He would feel the vibrations caused by others too all of those vibrations eventually came back to him, allowing a vivid picture to be painted in his mind of the surrounding building. One image caught his attention in particular it was of a small group with two teenaged girls nearby but something was off like there was something else to them, something familiar but he couldn't quite place it.
"Well here's were our fun ends my little rat," The guard gestured towards a stairwell that lead toward that place where those girls were.
"Huh, I can't say it's been a pleasure but my regards none the less you swine," Joshua mocked as he started to descend the stairs. Suddenly he felt a shift in the vibrations around him, the guard was attempting to push him down the stairs. He swiftly moved to the side and pulled the guard down causing him to fall down instead. Joshua chuckled as he quickly followed, he knew it was no use running and he was intrigued by these people down here.
"Ugh... my head," the guard groaned as he stood up. As his vision refocused he found that his captain was glaring at him. Next to her were two young girls looking at each other with playful expressions. He quickly saluted as he blushed, to think he was made a fool of by that little rat.
"Officer I see you need to be taught a lesson on how to properly walk down stairs, something I would have thought you'd learn when you were a child," Captain Fuchs said glaring at the man, with a look that seemed to say he was less than trash.
"I'm sorry Captain, this prisoner- wait where is he?"
"Right here, no need to worry I'm not as dishonorable as most of you are. I've excepted my fate a long time ago when I signed up for this mission," Joshua remarked as he came down the stairs looking at the guard with mocking pity. He took a look around at the last faces he would see, two girls who seemed to be twins of some sorts and a woman that was well known in the base after all she was the Captain of the enforcers.
"Well it's good to see your face not as broken Joshua. Do you still think it was worth it to leak our information to that punk after spending some time in the cells?" Captain Fuchs said as she dismissed the officer with a wave of her hand.
"Yes I do, in fact I wish I could have done more for him. He's doing much more good than any of you clowns could. Oh and I suppose I should introduce myself to you two as well, my name is Joshua Green. I am- well was one of the scientist who was working here."
"You're Doctor Green? I heard about your work in solving the air pollution crisis, why are you in trouble?" Flora asked looking both impressed and worried.
"Oh a fan huh, you always meet the strangest folk when your about to die. Well I'll save your Captain the trouble of telling you why I'm here. I have being telling someone about the location of different warehouses, so they may go there and cause a ruckus."
"I wouldn't call destroying our inventory a ruckus, you rat. Don't feel for him girls, he is a traitor and will tell you anything to get you to feel bad. As for the work he did on the project, he was merely the face of it all and had nothing to do with it at all and you can stop filling there heads with your nonsense Joshua" Captain Fuchs quickly interjected before any more questions could be asked.
"Fine fine, I won't say any more to them so you can do your job. I figured you'd at least be a bit merciful for me as we were friends before all this. Don't make me suffer any longer than what is necessary."
"As a final favor for what I owe you, I'll grant you that much. For what it's worth I am sorry that you felt as if you needed to turn away from us and our goal."
"People are such fickle things aren't they, with all their feelings and such. I'm guessing I should sit down, from the looks of thing you're going into one of your longer lectures," Joshua said as he sat on the floor of the empty room. He took another glance towards the girls trying to identify what it was that was so similar about them and his young rock manipulating friend.
