[Enhanced Intellect/ Compatibility: 3/ Power Output: 7/ Potential: 1]
[Virtual Interface/ Compatibility: 9/ Power Output: 1/ Potential: 1]
[Enhanced Magic Casting/ Compatibility: 4/ Power Output: 5/ Potential: 7]
[Soul Infusion/ Compatibility: n/a / Power Output: 15/ Potential: 4]
[Spacetime Altercation/ Compatibility: 2/ Power Output: 2/ Potential: 2]
These were the options I had before me.
"May I ask you show me the statistic explanations again?"
[Compatibility: How well you can utilize the signature. \ Power Output: How much relative life force you can afford to put into the signature. \ Potential: How much room for growth your signature has.]
The mirror calls them soul signatures for some reason, I don't really get it.
Enhanced Intellect is, funny enough, my highest power output ability after soul infusion. But I really didn't want to deal with that.
By the way Soul Infusion is the power it gave me when I asked for no power, I couldn't really test it in any meaningful way. I didn't feel any changes to my body when I selected it either, seems like it would be a pain.
Realistically speaking, my options were a tossup between the three remaining abilities.
Virtual Interface seemed to be a game-like display that showed stats and attributes and can even identify things you don't know about sometimes. For instance, this was my own status:
[Level 10 Human/ Physical: 5/ Mana: 0/ Spiritual: 2]
And this was the status for the mirror:
[???/Physical: Immutable / Mana: ???/ Spiritual: ???]
Wacky I know. Funny enough this was the status for an apple created in this room.
[Level 99 Fruit/ Physical: 1/ Mana: 10/ Spiritual: 10/ Taste: 99]
Level 99 fruit, dang this room generates some overpowered fruit. And it even has more mana and spirit than me and has an extra taste stat what's up with that? Incidentally I asked for my taste stat:
[Level 10 Human/ Physical: 5/ Mana: 0/ Spiritual: 2/ Taste: -5]
It would appear that I taste rather bad. Well, I honestly can't doubt the valuation of the Virtual Interface, I took a bite out of that fruit, and it honestly brought me to tears, best thing I've ever put into my mouth. Unfortunately, I couldn't get the room to spawn any more food after that, woe is me.
Enhanced Magic Casting was the ability that I had the most point total with (besides soul infusion) with a grand total of 16, not to mention highest potential. It seemed to function similar to spell casting in some of the games I've played, and after testing it for a good hour or two the most I could get it to work was by making a little red flame on the tip of my finger. It was pretty cool to be a human lighter though and I flaunted it a healthy amount to the mirror. Which then proceeded to create a blue fireball the size of a watermelon and fling it into a haystack, which spontaneously appeared in the corner of the room, causing it to explode on impact in a pretty grand firework display.
I'm convinced this mirror has a sense of humor.
All in all, it's a pretty neat power and I can definitely see why it has a potential of 7 if I could be able to create fireballs like that. However, the comment has me a bit hesitant.
[Comment: Already in possession of magical potential, redundancy]
Maybe I'm pretty incredible and I don't yet know it.
By the way here are all the other comments:
[Virtual Interface: Compatibility high]
[Soul Infusion: No output source, combination potential]
[Spacetime Altercation: power consumption extremely high, caution advised]
Spacetime Altercation is in there because it sounds really overpowered but with a 2 in every stat, I'm kind of hesitant.
The most I could get it to work was by slowing down my footsteps by a second or two.
I've also asked what these "soul signatures" were used for and the most I got after thirty minutes or so of asking was:
[Survival]
Which was kind of unnerving.
"Regardless, if I'm going to be stuck in this room for any longer, I'm going to go nuts." I point towards the virtual interface, "I choose the Interface"
[Are you certain]
Not gonna lie I'm having doubts already, but I can't back out now.
"Yes I am."
Silence.
A few nerve-racking seconds go by, I could feel my blood pumping and a tingle in the soles of my feet. I was acutely aware of the sound of my own heartbeat in this silent room.
And then words display on the screen once more.
[Please select an item]
"Ahh." I nearly collapse, "You really scared me there you know. Jeez..."
Gathering my wits once more I look towards the screen.
[Vorpal Blade/ Shifter's Necklace/Angel's Record]
The three items were also displayed in the mirror.
The Vorpal Blade is a plain looking medieval sword that is entirely white. The Shifter's Necklace is a white necklace with no central jewel, and the Angel's Record is a small white notebook.
I could guess a little of what they do from the names alone, but it would be safer just to ask.
"May I request descriptions?" I questioned.
Some more words, praise be the immutable mirror.
[Vorpal Blade/ An otherworldly item, a blade indestructible in every sense of the word. A skilled user may change its form, however.]
[Shifter's Necklace/ An otherworldly item, a necklace capable of rendering oneself unseen. A skilled user may be able to teleport with it.]
[Angel's Record/ An otherworldly item, a book that records all that has happened. A skilled user may reveal that which has yet to occur.]
Otherworldly items huh, truly a fitting description.
Teleportation suddenly made the necklace seem like a very attractive offer, but...
"The Angel Record." I announce.
[Are you certain]
"Yes I am."
Silence once more.
One second passes.
Then another.
At first I thought nothing would happen again, but then the room seems to fill with a green glow.
"Oh @#$%! Oh ^%$#! Oh no!" I swore. I don't think I was entirely ready to leave just yet, but I had to leave sometime.
A flash of light.
And I was gone.
