Penelope and Manuel started to be in a relationship and they started going out on dates too. She has told him a lot of things about her but she never heard him say anything about himself. Of course, she wanted to know a lot about him too but it seems like he doesn't want to share anything like his family or where he lives. It makes her wonder if he's hiding something from her.
She decided to talk to him about it because of her worries that something's troubling him. As his girlfriend, she wanted to be there for him too. Even though it is her first time in a relationship, she already knew her responsibility in the relationship.
Manuel on the other hand was bothered by few things but he refused to talk about it and just thought that he was just imagining things. However, he have an idea what Penelope wants to talk to him about. He can feel that she wants to know more about him and everytime she would ask about his family, he would change the topic.
