After Manuel and Penelope worked together on their research paper, they return the books they used in the library. It's already five in the afternoon and they are ready to go home as they both feel tired.
"Wanna grab something to eat before going home?" he asked her while she fixes her things inside her bag.
"Oh, I don't feel hungry," she answered.
"What about buying something you can bring home for your family?" he said while smiling from ear to ear.
Penelope stopped because of what he said and replied, "Ahm, I'm actually saving up so…"
"Don't worry, my treat!" he told her and beamed from ear to ear.
Actually, money is not the problem here. She just never thought of giving her mother anything aside from money.
"You don't have to. I'm not comfortable accepting treats. But still, thank you for your kind gestures. I appreciate it," she answered and smiled at him.
