__________ POV Narration__________
Momoze and the other princes had been idle the entire time. They were simply laying around and trying to find things to occupy their times with (like true royalty).
But their minds weren't actually idle, at least not most of them. Momoze and Halkenburg were both quite concerned about the state of affairs.
Their concern was only logical, after all, their half-brother Zhang Lei had yet to be caught. His whereabouts were completely unknown to them.
Neither of them had let their guard down even after the ship was confirmed to be free of assassins. They were both specifically careful of any messages that came to and from the ship.
They both asked their servants to pay attention to any form of communication that any conspirer would use to contact people that were on the continent.
Another person to take a similar approach was Kacho. Well, she was. But now that the ship was relatively safe, she was simply relaxing with her twin sister.
But at the beginning, Kacho was also acting in place of her twin sister. Fugetsu wasn't exactly fit for any work related to the current struggle that the princes were going through.
She was far too innocent and naive for that. Now, she was beginning to see that not all of her siblings were truly 'innocent'. Camilla's confession certainly helped her reach that conclusion.
As well as the confirmation of Zhang Lei's involvement in the situation.
Now, all of their princes had their relaxation time interrupted. They were all called to an anonymous meeting.
Why exactly? They didn't know. But they were all gathered there in around one hour. They were waiting for the one that had called the meeting to show himself.
They were all obviously surrounded by their servants.
"This is quite strange... Do any of you know who called this meeting?" Asked Halkenburg after a while.
"Not really... But did you all follow the instructions?" Momoze responded almost instantly.
They had all received this summons through a letter. I was simply left in each of their rooms. They had no idea who had placed it there and why.
It also had some troublesome requirements. It said that they must make sure that no one followed them to the meeting place, which was a large open area in the 5th tier of the Black Whale.
This was the first time the princes had climbed down to the last tier, and they weren't really impressed.
"I thought the ship was supposed to be safe... But this is extremely shady." Oita was the one to comment on the situation with quite a bit of suspicion.
They were all somewhat suspicious, but she was the first one to express it openly.
"Indeed... But we aren't really helpless. We all have brought some servants with us. And Kurapika is also present... I don't think there is anyone left on the ship that can pose a threat to us." Said Sevanti, Momoze's mother.
Kurapika was currently looking around with quite a bit of suspicion. He couldn't quite put his finger on who had called them.
Suddenly, he could hear the distinct sound of wind being cut. He quickly released his dowsing chain. Spreading it all around the princes as bullets and arrows started coming from all directions.
They were all infused with the same energy that Zhang Lei's servants were using.
Kurapika's quick reaction managed to save the life of the princes, but the threat hadn't passed.
Kurapika could hear the distinct sound of clapping. He could see as soldiers, people that he had seen regularly as part of the Kakin Empire's army were surrounding them.
Weapons raised and pointed at the gathering of princes.
Kurapika instantly noticed something strange, all of their eyes were empty. They also had absolutely no Nen... And that was problematic.
All living beings had Nen. Even if they weren't able to control it, they still had it. It represented their life force.
So... That could only mean one thing. The people surrounding them were all dead. That realisation managed to unnerve the young hunter greatly.
He had no way of knowing that their aura had simply been suppressed and replaced with Shakti. So he just thought he was looking at puppets...
Well, he wasn't completely wrong. The effects Shakti had on humans were still not completely known.
And, after today. It would also be known that someone, presumably the source of this Shakti, was capable of gaining absolute control over those that were infected with it.
At this point, the rest of the servants had also acted and surrounded the princes, forming a shield around them and preparing for combat.
"Marvelous~ Truly, what beautiful reflexes...You humans never cease to amaze me!" The one speaking was that one soldier that had been clapping.
"You will be a great addition to our growing army!" He said with a deranged smile, as his eyes flashed a purple colour. If Ashton were here, he would've recognised those eyes almost instantly...
One of the gazes that had peered at him while he was inside the abyss... In other words. A god.
"What is your purpose?! What have you done to the soldiers!?" Asked Kurapika as he looked around in a panic.
To him, the current situation was looking extremely bleak. He was trying his best to figure a way out.
But something made him concerned... It seemed that all of the soldiers that had been left on the ship were currently under that purple-eyed man's control.
Currently. Around 200 people that he could see with his eyes. It was an extremely concerning number.
Momoze also looked at the situation with quite a bit of helplessness. She didn't even know how to react to it. She just hoped that her siblings and servants would be fine.
"Aren't you funny?~ What do you mean 'purpose'? Isn't that quite clear? You're all going to die... At least you won't exist in the same way you do now." Kurapika instantly understood what the man was speaking about.
They were going to become just like the rest of the soldiers. And they were vastly outnumbered and outgunned...
"This isn't looking good..." Said Halkenburg as he looked around the room.
"Did Zhang Lei command this attack? Might as well tell us if you're going to kill us anyway..." Halkenburg instantly started trying to coax some information out of their attacker.
"Little puppet prince doesn't even know what he's dealing with~ Nothing but strings and plots~ He was a fool to not act on my warning~" Halkenburg couldn't quite understand what the purple-eyed man was talking about.
"Enough talk~ Time mustn't be wasted. Lest he comes here too~" The man simply pointed at the princes with a sadistic smile on his lips.
"DIE!~" Was all he said.
A fight was simply unavoidable.
