Chereads / HxH: The Applications Of Nen / Chapter 128 - To Fight Nature

Chapter 128 - To Fight Nature

__________ POV Ashton__________

After getting a breath of clean air I let go of the barrier and used 'Wind Aspect' to send myself flying instead of the relic.

I dodged the countless roots and vines with relative ease. But, I need to find an opportunity to touch the ground for my plan to work.

I plan to use 'Nature Resonance' to strengthen the earth and stop the roots from coming out around Brion temporarily.

But I don't think I'll achieve much If I just keep dodging around.

So I instead opted to get further away from the city and using Parasitic Explosion to clear everything around me.

The vines and roots were torn apart by the constant stream of explosions I kept releasing. The heat burned my surroundings as the temperature turned everything around me into a molten red.

I used that opportunity to touch the ground with my legs. I spread my En throughout this half of the living dome prison.

It was at least 20 kilometres around me. I embedded my Aura into the dirt, turning it black. I instantly started feeling resistance as the roots struggled in the strengthened earth.

I acted quickly, dashing towards Brion, always making sure to be in contact with the earth.

Brion's head seemed to vibrate violently as the vines underground were energised. The ones above me gained in speed and we're starting to multiply even more.

I used the earth to form a roof above us, it didn't hold for long, but all I needed was a second. I strengthened my body to inhuman levels as my gloved fist prepared to meet Brion's head.

But something stopped me in my tracks. My stomach exploded as roots started growing out of my organs.

Spores! Fuck, I forgot about those. It seems Brion is constantly emitting them too...

I instantly created a clone and transferred my consciousness to it. Recovering instantly and using Wind Aspect to create a vacuum around my body.

I lost all of my momentum and all I could manage was to kick Brion outside of the city... But that was the whole point.

Unfortunately, my Nen doesn't seem to stick to this strange being. But Its surroundings were filled with it.

I couldn't release a large scale explosion. But smaller ones around its body are possible.

I started by exploding its immediate surroundings, but that wasn't enough to kill it. As it was just staggered. This thing is a lot tougher in the body than it should be.

My kick didn't do any damage to it either, but I should've expected something like this.

The roof above broke as the roots also finally managed to drill their way out of the ground as well.

I jumped backwards, hitting the wall of the city with my back. Then I rolled to the side, as the moss itself seemed to want to strangle me to death.

Countless vines stabbed into my body as I was forced to makes series of clones and transferred my consciousness to the furthest one. The clones quickly charged Brion, but we're all crushed into the ground.

I need to retrieve the artefacts on my body quickly. But I don't think these vines will give me a chance.

I quickly released a violent tornado around me. The wall of the city was also being affected by it, but I don't care about the walls, I just don't want the buildings to break down further.

Brion itself wasn't left unaffected by the tornado. It was pulled into it and sent flying towards the top of his dome.

I use the moment when Brion is suspended in the air to make another clone and stick it into the earth using Nature Resonance, effectively burying it alive for a bit.

The roof of this dome is the place where I would hope to have Brion. I quickly used an explosion to send myself flying towards the Botanical Weapon.

The explosion undid the tornado as Brion stopped ascending.

The roots were too slow to stop me and the vines were shredded by the wind barrier around my body.

I quickly arrived near the dangerous calamity. I caught it in a hold as my body crashed into its own. Slowly, my hands turned red as the temperature around us started burning the vines and roots.

I immediately released a powerful explosion, changing my consciousness to the clone I had buried as the ceiling of the Dome was burned beyond recognition.

The explosion raged on for a while, as I kept sending more and more parasitic Nen through my En.

I obviously gave up on getting my hands on its body. It's not exactly cooperating with me and it's proved to be a more than dangerous foe.

The explosion eventually stopped. I observed the massive cloud of smoke and the hole in the ceiling with curiosity. That should've been enough to kill it, but I guess I can never be sure.

A strange purple seed was falling towards the ground from the centre of the explosion. It gave me a strange feeling, when using Gyo, I could tell that it is alive.

So I guess this is Brion's true form them? I guess it's a form of parasitic being that took the body of one of the expedition members?

Or maybe it's the body of someone from the older civilisation that lived here? Does that mean they were also humans?

Well, I will have time to find answers to those questions. I quickly ripped open space and let the seed fall inside. I don't really want to know what happens if it possesses a tree or something.

Time inside the void is stopped too, so I don't have to worry about it harming Pitou.

After I was done with that, I quickly started covering up the hole in the dome. As the beasts were already swarming around the dome and looking for an entry point.

I obviously used Nature Resonance to cover it in darkened earth. Then I hid my presence.

It's time to explore this strange city. To see what exactly Brion was guarding here.

Hope you liked the chapter!

Btw, the way he used his clones will be explained later(when he does this again). They are usually supposed to be in the same state as the user is when they are made.
