__________ POV Ashton__________
Didn't think I'd be going back to Momoze's room so quickly. But it's not like it can be helped, I don't know the others well enough for them to call a meeting in my stead.
Now, I could call it myself, but I doubt some of the newer alliance members would show up if the invitation had my name on it.
From what I understand, their alliance has around 4 new members... Can't wait to find out what their deal is.
By that I mean, I hope they aren't too annoying. And I somehow doubt there are so many princes completely against the Succession War.
Some, like Camilla, must be looking for something else in that alliance. And I don't really care, as long as it doesn't harm Momoze in any way.
And maybe the other original members of the Alliance(including Kacho and her sister) because they already did a lot to help Momoze.
Even if Camilla hasn't exactly been all that present, she still showed up and helped us when it was needed.
I reached Momoze's room quite quickly. I am still carrying the Seed Urn, something that the guards took notice of, but since they don't really know how their national treasure looks, they won't stop me.
Although, they might tell their Captain, and that man definitely knows. And that's exactly what I wanted, I could've just went invisible otherwise.
I knocked on the door, the servants are likely going to answer, as this is the door to her living room more than anything. The princes have it nice...
Just as expected, a servant opened the door in front of me. He looked quite shocked to see me, I guess they expected me not to be coming back anytime soon?
I greeted him politely, breaking him out of his trance by patting him on the shoulder and passing by him.
I don't really need a special invitation to enter Momoze's room, I lived here for a few days already.
The servants didn't really stop me either, most were just curious about the random Clay Pot I'm just holding.
Momoze's bedroom door was closed, I decided to knock, I don't feel like going through the 'barge in while the female character is changing' trope.
She answered accordingly, by just opening the door anyway. Thankfully, she was dressed, but she still jumped when seeing me.
"Hey, Momoze! We have a few things to talk about... But it would be better for you to call a meeting with the other members." I got to the point fast.
She seemed a bit discouraged by how straightforward I was, but I'll speak to her properly after the meeting is done.
"O-ok..." She went back into her room. She managed to close the door into my face, I think it was reflex, but I guess it's better that I don't enter anyway.
She should be calling her siblings right now... Still, it will likely take a while. I walked to the living room and sat down on a random couch.
Unfortunately, I didn't get to rest for even two minutes. As Momoze exited her room almost instantly. She looked a bit flustered for some random reason.
I honestly thought she would be a bit against meeting me after the fiasco that was our last meeting.
It was mostly my mistake. Expecting her, an innocent girl, to be prepared to sacrifice the lives of others.
"I... I called them! Let's go to the meeting room..." Well, they call it the meeting room, but it's just Camilla's living room.
"Sure, showing up early works too..." I said with a yawn.
She looked a bit concerned for some reason. "Did you... Get much sleep?" A mosquito from across the room would've been louder.
"Not really, I had a lot to do. As you can likely see..." I raised the pot that was in my right hand. I was holding it without much care.
It may look like a Clay Pot, but all relics are somewhat more resistant than normal items.
Momoze's eyes widened when seeing the Seed Urn in my hands. "D-did you steal that?" She said in a hushed whisper.
"Of course not. The leader of the Phantom Troupe, the one that killed your father, had it." I said with a smile. She looked a bit odd at that last part.
I guess she of all people should know that I am the one that actually killed the King. Well, only Kurapika and Momoze know about it.
But I'm sure some of the other members could make an educated guess...
Like Camilla, who always looks at me weirdly. And even Kacho, who is quite intelligent underneath all of her fake arrogance.
I don't know much about Oito though. I haven't really had many exchanges with her, she mainly spoke to Momoze. And I didn't always pay attention.
Kurapika is her bodyguard though, so he might've told her some things.
"I see... You're not hurt are you?" Jeez, what's with all of the concern? She was never like this when I lived with her.
Wait... Does she feel guilty that I needed to clean up after her plan failed?
A frustrated sigh couldn't help but leave my mouth, as she looked even more concerned because of it.
"Momoze," I grabbed her chin and made her look me in the eye. She has a bad habit of staring at the ground when she feels sad.
Her eyes widened a bit, the emotions I can pinpoint are, shock... And expectation... What is this girl thinking about? Why is she closing her eyes?
She's redder than a tomato ripe for picking.
Goddammit, leaving her like this would be a bit awkward. But I'm not about to go kissing her... At least not smack on the mouth.
I leaned in, her lips perked up, but I only kissed her forehead. It's a bit strange really, the height difference is quite large.
I kept it for around two seconds. When I departed, her eyes were wide open, steam was almost coming out of her ears.
I guess she doesn't care about the fact that I didn't kiss her properly. But this was not even why I grabbed her in the first place...
"Stop blaming yourself for your plan not succeeding..." I said, staring into her eyes.
"B-but... It failed, you had to do all of the work in the end..." She tried to look down, but I didn't let her do that.
"It doesn't matter, you didn't disappoint me, I just gave you too big a task for your first mission..." I said with a smile. A tear slid down her cheek.
"It was mostly my fault. I don't want you blaming yourself for something so simple... " I said with a smile. Her hands wrapped around my abdomen, as her head rested a bit on it.
I guess she needed a hug... I wasn't expecting this to happen though. I thought she was a bit madder at me than she actually is...
This also means her feelings aren't really as simple as I thought at first... I guess I don't have to play at being a righteous guy? Well, in moderation.
Can't really kill everyone and expect innocent little Momoze to find it neat. She's not a Zoldyck after all...
I let her hug me for a minute or two. She didn't show any signs of moving this entire time.
"Let's head for the meeting... Wouldn't want your siblings to wait for too long..." Unfortunately for her, we still need to go.
She reluctantly departed. She pouted a bit but followed me out of the room anyway.
Now, to meet with the other princes...
