Chapter 34 - Chu Shenshu's Hatred

Chu Weixu walked hastily while clenching his fists. Unknowingly, his fingernails pierced his flesh, but he didn't want to let go, letting them pierce deeper.

At first, Chu Weixu had intended to beat up Chu Shenshu the moment he found him. Yet, as he was about to set foot on the first rung of the ladder, Chu Shenshu was seen standing several steps above him as if he was waiting for Chu Weixu.

Instantly Chu Weixu stopped walking.

Chu Weixu initially thought that Chu Shenshu wanted to make a fuss with him. But, when he saw Chu Shenshu just standing on the stairs, he suddenly became confused.

Chu Weixu frowned at Chu Shenshu, thinking about what exactly he was planning.

Meanwhile, as soon as Chu Shenshu noticed Chu Weixu's presence, he immediately turned his head towards him, then walked down with elegant steps.

Standing right in front of Chu Weixu, the two faces that had a firm and arrogant feature were unable to dodge each other.

Chu Shenshu smoked a cigarette without taking his eyes off Chu Weixu and purposefully blew the smoke into his face.

While Chu Weixu remained silent until Chu Shenshu spoke, "I met Xinian in her office."

Chu Weixu's voice sounded indifferent, "Then?"

Chu Shenshu took another sip of his cigarette. "I was there when you called her."

Chu Weixu narrowed his eyes when he heard the words and silently waited for Chu Shenshu to continue.

The man who had a cold expression on his face tapped into the ashes, scattering the remnants of burning tobacco over their shoes. "What have you said to Xinian?"

Chu Weixu raised his eyebrows. He didn't want to admit anything, "What have I said to her? It's nothing."

The air suddenly became colder, enveloping both of them.

Chu Shenshu gave no response as he narrowed his eyes.

While Chu Weixu kept rambling on, "Is this what you came here for? Don't say something unimportant to me. Don't waste your time on such a thing because I won't care about all your rubbish."

The calm man before Chu Weixu had a deadly gaze in his eyes. He showed no reaction and continued to pinch the cigarette butt on his finger until the flames touched his skin, causing a burning sensation.

Finally, Chu Shenshu took one step at a time, passing Chu Weixu. Before he came out behind the wall, he had time to say in a warning tone, "If you hurt Xinian's feelings again, I won't hesitate to order my men to teach you a lesson. She's been helping you all this time, right? You should respect her."

Was he intimidating me?

Chu Weixu cracked a smile. How he looked at Chu Shenshu now was solely a shape of contempt in his eyes.

There was no fear when Chu Weixu heard his eldest brother's words. Perhaps it was because Chu Weixu was a person who wasn't bound by rules, so he often dismissed any warnings from others.

Like a wolf, Chu Weixu was a person who wasn't easily tamed. He wouldn't obey anyone else if it wasn't Ai Zhiyi.

Chu Weixu stayed there for a long time, lowering his head with a blank stare. Without looking back, he knew that Chu Shenshu had left this place. He mumbled to himself, "You think I'm afraid of such a bluff? How ridiculous."

Meanwhile, before Chu Shenshu left this place, he spoke to Wen Qi first who was currently standing at the counter as if he was heckling, "Looks like being between them, you look more cheerful now."

Wen Qi didn't turn to Chu Shenshu, but he was also reluctant to respond until the man left him indifferently.

By the look on the young man's face, it could be seen that something had happened between Wen Qi and Chu Shenshu, which had passed for a long time but left an indelible mark.

Chu Shenshu sat quietly in the car until a driver kindly confirmed their destination, "Boss, are we going to the airport?"

Hearing someone ask him when he was in a bad mood, made the question sound like a mockery that provoked his anger. He immediately glanced at the driver sitting in the driver's seat with a sharp gaze, saying, "Did I ever say I wanted to go somewhere else after visiting this place?"

After his boss's words, the driver shuddered in fear as if his hair felt like it was going to fall out. So, he immediately apologized in a trembling voice before starting the car.

There was a change in the calm expression on Chu Shenshu's face, the wrinkles in the mid of his eyebrows becoming more and more clear, and slowly showing pent-up resentment.

Gritting his teeth, the anger he had been trying to hide within himself was finally released, igniting the fire in his eyes.

From a long time ago, Chu Shenshu was a person who had never gotten along well with his two siblings. However, even though Chu Shenshu had an indifferent appearance, he himself was a person who cared so much for his family, but not for Chu Weixu.

All this time, Chu Shenshu had never cared about what Chu Weixu did. However, when he saw his younger sister being hurt by someone, even if it was his own brother, he wouldn't hesitate to teach him a lesson without caring if it was necessary using violence.

After all, ever since Chu Weixu left their family, Chu Shenshu considered that Chu Weixu was no longer a part of the Chu Family even though blood ties weren't something that could be removed. Besides, Chu Weixu didn't have any manners, even he didn't have a particular image in their family, causing Chu Shenshu to doubt Chu Weixu's identity.

Chu Weixu was indeed uneducated in manners, like an outcast who only used the same surname as himself.

As for Chu Shenshu, wherever his feet stepped on, then people would show their respect.

His reputation and power were great powers that upheld his name as the heir to the business in the Chu family.

If people heard his name, then people would immediately recognize him as "Chu Shenshu, the great and prosperous man".

Chu Shenshu was a prosperous person even though he had an unfortunate past, wherein he used to be a child who was neglected by his own parents.

When Chu Shenshu was two years old, his mother was pregnant with her second child. At that time his mother's condition seemed to get worse that she was unable to take care of Chu Shenshu, so his grandpa proposed to take Chu Shenshu to his residence which was in a different city than Chu Shenshu to be cared for by a nanny. He said that he and his wife would take care of Chu Shenshu until his mother's condition recovered.

However, years passed until the birth of Chu Weixu. Chu Shenshu was like a forgotten child. Therefore, he became more comfortable at his grandparents' residence than he had to return to his family's mansion.

In his teens, his parents remembered him. They had brought Chu Shenshu back to their mansion several times, but he kept running away.

Until at the age of twenty-one, his grandpa died, so he was asked by his grandma to return to his family mansion with the excuse of getting him used to being there.

Unfortunately, even though Chu Shenshu had been cared for many years by his grandparents, still, their affection wasn't entirely for Chu Shenshu but for Chu Weixu. Even his parents did the same to him as if they all assumed that Chu Shenshu could live alone without them.

They considered that Chu Weixu was a weak child, so he needed more attention.

What's the difference with him?

The reason didn't allow Chu Shenshu to understand Chu Weixu's plight apart from feeling so resentful of him. Chu Shenshu could even feel a deep hatred carved into his bones.

Chu Shenshu knew what the word 'weak' meant that it was related to Chu Weixu's hemophilia.

Then, what about him?

He was a hemophiliac as well like Chu Weixu, suffering from the same genetic disorder of the same scale. He just didn't want to say that his parents deliberately acted unfairly just to demand him to become an independent man.

Now, Chu Weixu who was protected the most had fled with someone else, leaving behind a bad name for them.

Chu Shenshu didn't bear any grudges in his heart.

Nonetheless, if he was given one chance to laugh at them, he would do it right in the faces of those who had defended Chu Weixu!
