Chapter 12 - Chu Weixu's suspicion

After that, Ai Zhiyi and Chu Weixu immediately turned around and walked towards the exit door to leave the hospital.

As they walked, Ai Zhiyi fell silent when he thought about why Qing Hua was doing this for them. Good and bad thoughts flashed through his head, whether Qing Hua felt guilty after what he said previously or even had a certain intention.

However, the more he thought about the things, the more he felt more confused and popped many questions into his head.

But, Ai Zhiyi couldn't trust Qing Hua after what had happened between them. He had forgiven him, but it was just so hard to forget the bad things about him.

A moment later, as soon as both of them were outside, Chu Weixu stopped all of a sudden. He was silent, staring blankly ahead for a moment while clenching his fists tightly. Then, he turned his head to Ai Zhiyi beside him while speaking in a low tone that sounded cold, "Xiaoyi, did Qing Hua say something to you earlier? Or, do you have a debt to him?"

Ai Zhiyi frowned in confusion when Chu Weixu asked that out of the blue. He didn't suspect anything. He just wondered why Chu Weixu thought of such a thing. He looked at Chu Weixu with furrowed brows without being able to say anything.

The silence made Chu Weixu feel that Ai Zhiyi had been hiding something from him and made him impatient.

"Answer me!" Chu Weixu emphasized. His gaze suddenly changed as he confirmed his words. He stared at Ai Zhiyi's eyes sharply as if his eyes were a dagger that was ready to pierce Ai Zhiyi's eyes, who looked surprised when their eyes met each other.

"About what? What a debt! I don't get your point." Ai Zhiyi asked in confusion.

Chu Weixu was silent for a moment as he glared at Ai Zhiyi. The water on his face was bright red which showed that something was bothering him right now.

But, in the end, Chu Weixu didn't say anything and immediately left the hospital with an annoyed face.

Meanwhile, Ai Zhiyi, who didn't understand anything about why Chu Weixu got annoyed with him. He got even more confused by Chu Weixu's sudden attitude.

iAi Zhiyi immediately chased after Chu Weixu, who had started to move away, then pulled his arm before they passed through the hospital gate.

He yelled at Chu Weixu, who seemed to ignore him, "Weizu! Wait! I don't understand what you mean. But, if you talk about why Qing Hua wants to do this, I don't know. I don't know anything at all!"

Chu Weixu stopped at once but he didn't turn to look at Ai Zhiyi. There was a five-second pause before Chu Weixu said, "It's better if we talk about this when we get home."

After the words, Chu Weixu immediately stepped a foot and walked first.

Ai Zhiyi was stunned, thinking about Chu Weixu's words. His fingers that were pinching Chu Weixu's sleeve slowly dislodged until Chu Weixu was out of reach. Ai Zhiyi remained silent as he lowered his head behind Chu Weixu, someone who didn't even want to turn around to know his feelings.

Staring blankly at the ground, Ai Zhiyi thought of convincing Chu Weixu that what he just said was the truth. Still, Ai Zhiyi was tired of explaining something that he thought there was no need to explain, so he, with a heavy heart, took a step, following Chu Weixu behind his back.

In this context, Ai Zhiyi's words were already very simple, but Chu Weixu indulged in his anger so much that he couldn't differentiate between truth and lies.

Ai Zhiyi didn't want to argue, even though he never intended to do it until they got home.

However, Chu Weixu, who was overthinking about Ai Zhiyi's closeness to Qing Hua, made Ai Zhiyi had to yell out loud to make Chu Weixu stop saying something that never happened at all.

"Weixu! I only met him at the hospital today! If it weren't for him, who brought you to the hospital, I also would never have allowed him to show his face again! So, stop accusing me of hiding something from you." Ai Zhiyi paused for a moment, he took a deep breath, trying to calm himself down. It worked so that when he spoke once again, his tone sounded a little gentler, "Weixu, go rest now, and don't forget to take your medicine."

As soon as Ai Zhiyi finished his words, he turned and walked towards the dining table, where he placed the parcels of cakes and medicines before he headed to the hospital, then opened the parcels of tiramisu cakes with milk cream on top.

Ai Zhiyi stared at the cake blankly, but he could still feel the sweet scent of the cake, which made the anger and disappointment that stifled his heart gradually subside like a tide slowly receding at dusk.

Now, he felt a little calm. He tugged at the corners of his lips, slowly etching a faint upward-curved line on his face. He was silent for a while before he walked to the larder near to take a plate and fork then returned a moment later to the dining table.

Ai Zhiyi cut the tiramisu cake and placed it on a plate. However, before he turned around to bring the cake to Chu Weixu, suddenly Chu Weixu wrapped his hand around Ai Zhiyi's stomach tightly.

Ai Zhiyi was surprised and immediately turned his head to the side. Seeing Chu Weixu resting his head on his shoulder, he opened his lips and was about to ask. However, before he could say anything, Chu Weixu's words made his lips close at once on their own.

"Xiaoyi, never forget that we are running away to live together — forever. I open up to you and you must also do the same as me. Don't ever forget that," Chu Weixu said, in a low voice that sounded like a whisper in Ai Zhiyi's ear.

Chu Weixu closed his eyes as he said word by word, feeling the gentle fragrance of Ai Zhiyi. He seemed to enjoy it and made him sink into the calmness he felt currently.

For a moment, he thought that he really loved the scent of his lover and would always love it. Nobody had a smell as sweet and delicate as the scent of his Ai Zhiyi, so he couldn't let anyone tarnish what he often enjoyed. It would make him angry, and wouldn't hesitate to do anything at all costs.

Chu Weixu might be a person who looked weak with hemophilia he had, which was why he was demanded to always take medicine every day.

However, in the context of a man, he was tough and the one who liked to fight.

It could be even fiercer than a tiger and gentler than a rabbit.

Not only when they were adults, but as teenagers, people wouldn't evade the truth.

They believed that Chu Weixu was a person who could be very dangerous.
