Su Tang paused for a moment but quickly caught on and smiled, continuing along Mei Yan's line of conversation, "If you hadn't mentioned it, I would have never known this was edible."
Mei Yan adeptly peeled open a spiky husk, extracted the round chestnut inside, and with a gentle tap of her teeth, revealed the flesh within.
"Here, try this. It's sweet and incredibly tasty!"
Su Tang's hands stalled for a moment. "Is this how you guys normally eat them?"
Mei Yan nodded nonchalantly, "Yeah, how else would we eat them?"
Su Tang avoided Mei Yan's gaze as she took the chestnut from her hand and bit into it, exclaiming loudly, "Mmm, delicious!"
Upon hearing this, Mei Yan's smile brightened even more!
She cracked open several more spiky husks and stuffed a pile of chestnuts into Su Tang's arms.
"There's plenty more here, eat up if you like them!"
