Xia Yangyang and Gu Qichen went to Luhe Lane together.
The alley was vastly different from when they first came.
It was silent all around, no dogs barking, nor strays to be seen.
Xia Yangyang walked up to the last house and knocked on the door.
Aunt Yu appeared in no time.
Seeing Xia Yangyang and Gu Qichen, she smiled: "Well, if it isn't you two, come on in, come in, I've been wondering how to thank you."
Once inside, they saw the old couple having dinner at the table.
Lively Aunt Yu chimed, "You haven't eaten yet, have you? If it's not too much trouble, join us. We cooked extra because we were so happy today."
Xia Yangyang wasn't shy: "I'm actually quite hungry, so if you insist, we'll accept."
Aunt Yu responded, "You are our saviors. We're absolutely thrilled to have you eat with us."
She provided bowls and chopsticks, and they all sat together at the table.
Xia Yangyang originally thought that Gu Qichen, who seemed a bit of a neat freak, would be quite picky about food.
