Mo Xiuchen wasn't lying in this case.
He did indeed stumble upon the newspaper by chance, perhaps even, the heavens were helping him.
The fact that last year's paper would miraculously appear only now, and in the cab he was riding, was so unbelievable that no one would buy it if he told them.
Of course, such a dramatic coincidence was no coincidence at all. Most of the coincidences in this world were artfully arranged by someone, including this newspaper.
Same with the words of the taxi driver referring to the 'lady who rode before him'. All of these were purposefully arranged solely for Mo Xiuchen. Not only in that car, but there were copies of the same paper in other cabs parked on the street too.
Mo Jingteng's eyes flickered with suspicion, wondering whether Mo Xiuchen was genuinely oblivious or if he was lying.
