After hanging up the call, Wen Ran's mind was in turmoil!
She had lost her ability to think, and Fu Jingyi's voice kept playing back in her mind. The only feeling she had was that her hands and feet were ice-cold, and so was her heart.
Tears welled up in her eyes, but she quickly held them back.
She looked up at the large desk not far away, which was empty at the moment. Her heart plunged into a bottomless abyss amidst the emptiness. Yet, a bone-deep pain invaded her soul.
She didn't know how she got out of the office, how she took the elevator downstairs, or how she left the corporate building.
Along the way, people greeted her, but she didn't see or hear anything. After leaving the company, she got into a taxi by the roadside. When the driver asked her where she was going, she just stared at him, dumbfounded.
After a long pause, she managed to give him an address.

Twenty minutes later, the driver pulled over and dropped her off after she paid the fare.
