Chapter 8 - Her first book of magic

The day was not yet clear when Celine opened her eyes, even in bed she could easily see a figure constantly moving around as she organized the room, gathering some belongings and putting them inside a bag.

Sensing the gaze on her, Suna moves towards the window and opens the curtains, although it wasn't completely clear she could hear the sounds of traders outside.

– My lady – Suna approaches Celine with a small basin in her hands, and placing it on the headboard beside the bed, she says:

– Get up and come here, I'll help you with your clothes.

Celine got up and washed her face, as soon as she was done, Suna approached with a handkerchief gently wiping her face.

– This time we won't stop at any inn, I estimate that this way, we'll arrive in Menione in a day or two early... – Suna calculated while helping Celine.

Celine thought: 'Then we will continue without pause from the small kingdom of Tiszod to the capital of the Empire of Nairot? Such a long journey, shouldn't there be much faster ways to get around here?'

While Celine was imagining thousands of faster ways to move from one realm to another Suna had already finished straightening her robes and was now combing her hair, using a small band to carefully tie it.

Suna stared at her for a while, completely satisfied with her work, and gathering up the rest of her belongings, the two left the room.

As soon as they left, they noticed that next door were the two servants they had seen the day before, they seemed a little distressed as they knocked on the door.

– The young master hasn't woken up yet? – One of them whispered to the other.

– I really don't know, but I heard that the young master has a heavy sleep and only wakes up when properly satisfied – The other replied with a complicated expression.

The first one who had spoken had an even more worried expression – What's with this weird way, you have to wake up when it's time to wake up! – He whispered screaming, it was a little funny.

– Exactly!! – The second again replied, using the same tone as the first.

Suna also seemed to find it funny, and trying to maintain a calm expression, she dragged Celine to the first floor, after saying a few words to the attendant, they left the inn. Entering the carriage, and resumed their journey, this time towards the capital of the great Empire of Nairot.

...

Nairot was known for its arid landscapes and dry climate, which left any green spot in its territory always very appreciated by travelers, its people are known mainly for their big parties, filled with all kinds of drinks, people always happy and passionate, a kingdom full of different races, be they humans, magicians, witches or shapeshifters, the only thing that mattered was feasting and feasting.

...

Taking in the view from inside the carriage, Celine noticed when they suddenly changed from a wide expanse of sand to a greener, tree-rich region. It took them about four days to travel from the capital Tiszod and from the edge of the Kingdom of Waterfall to this small stretch of Nairot territory, finally arriving at the city of Menione.

They obviously wouldn't stop in the city, so the carriage just passed it, from a distance Celine saw the famous capital of Nairot, it was gigantic, much bigger than Celestia, from where they were you could see the immense river that stretched to the side from the capital heading south towards Fenymia, it was this river that Celine would cross to reach Kesla, and then, with another two day's journey, they finally reached a small riverside town of Nairot.

'Crossing the river, Celine would have finally reached Fenymia'

Suna helped her down from the carriage. When the horses needed to stop to rest, she usually went down to stretch her legs, but this last trip had had very few stops, Celine felt a little uncomfortable.

Suna guided her to the docks, arriving there she handed her a bag and a small suitcase.

– Inside the bags are some clothes and essential items, your highness will not need them much as you will receive almost everything from the school itself, and in this suitcase are your books.

Celine took them and faced Suna again, asking – Won't you go with me?

Suna smiles and says – Miss, from here to Kesla you will have to go alone, there is a ferry team that is in charge of transporting the students, they will give you a carriage after you reach the other side of the river, and they will personally escort you to the Campus.

Stopping for a moment, Suna seems to have remembered something, and pulling a book out of her own bag, she hands it to Celine.

– The Lady asked me to give you this.

The book looked old, its cover was frayed. She asked – What is this book about?

Suna covered her mouth as she let out light and sincere laugh – It's a book of magic Miss, and if I'm not mistaken, this should be the first book of magic your mother used.

Celine turned her gaze back to the book a little stunned, 'Did my mom gives me her first book of magic?' She thought, getting more and more excited, but saying right away with a complicated expression:

– I can't control any magic, I can't use this book – She said.

Suna stared at her for a moment before saying seriously – Celine, your mother gave you this book because she believes you will be able to use it, why would she give you something useless?

Celine nodded with a vacant look, Suna looked at the ferry and quickly argued with those responsible for the student crossing, paying the fee, she pushed Celine inside, it was a very large ferry, Celine sat in the passenger area and was left there by Suna.

The ferry started to move, it would be approximately an hour's crossing.
