Chapter 4 - Troll Legion

The moment Wang Kui said those words, however, his channel could no longer hold back.

[Lol, those are quite some airs you've really put on there!]

[You're the one who said you would kill it, yet you're also the one who said you would conserve it. Are you the Two-Face of legends?!]

[Hahaha! Good old double standards!]

[Where's the dog?]

[Dog?!]

Meanwhile, as Wang Kui interacted with everyone, more newcomers entered his channel.

[It's just another clickbait. Dismissed!]

[What the hell?! 'Hunting a man-eating wolfdog'?! Livestreaming an animal killing?! Just watch, the police will come and get you! Moron!]

[To the one above, did you come from Dunhuang? You talk so much trash!]

[Could you watch a bit more before you start ranting? Baidu it yourself if you don't believe it—everything the streamer says is true!]

[You may talk tough online, but are you actually just a middle schooler?]

Wang Kui's viewers who had been watching from the start could not help retorting in his stead at this time.

Wang Kui also took out the bounty notice and showed it to the new viewers, also telling them that he had contacted the Fangshan local forestry department before bringing the conversation back on track.

"We are now behind Mount Sigou where the wolfdog has fled to. If you ever get lost in the wild, you must first keep calm and confirm your position."

"After knowing where you are, look for a water source. The old saying that 'water always flows downward' is true, and as long as you head down from a mountain, you will have a good chance of finding a water source."

"There are usually roads near water sources, and people would be there. The mountain village at Sigou which we just passed by is a perfect example."

"Since humans need water, science has proven that human blood circulation would be troubled if they are dehydrated. After that, their blood pressure would drop, and their heart rate would increase, and they would have difficulties surviving for just three days."

"Likewise, that wolfdog needs water as well. The local police found nothing even after three days had passed, meaning that the villagers did not see it appear at the stream under the mountain. In other words, that beast has found a new and steady source of water at the back of Mount Sigou."

"So, our objective is clear! We need to find the water source, and the dog will be found!"

As Wang Kui hurried up the mountain, he continued interacting with the audience in his channel.

He was involved in wildlife photography, so he naturally knew that many exciting wildlife footages were a result of post-production footage.

Some photographers would have to gather a day's worth of recordings only to edit it into a mere one hour of exciting footage, the rest of which showed a boring journey.

No other person would watch you journey for hours—it would be better if you livestreamed yourself sleeping.

On the other hand, everyone would accept you easier if you chatted with them for several hours.

Therefore, what Wang Kui did was to use hunting the wolfdog as the main topic to fully charge up everyone's expectations since it was that expectation that was prompting them to willingly stay in his livestream channel.

And just as expected…

Thanks to his idea, almost none of his first viewers had left. New viewers were also increasing in number, and there were now dozens of them. The trending rate of his stream was almost reaching one thousand as well.

After all, Wang Kui was funny and knowledgeable, just as his capturing angle was extremely clear and super stable, unlike other outdoor streamers who were capturing footage with shaking phones.

Moreover, the crowd was quite excited by the first person who had declared that they would hunt out in the wild, and all of them were exhilarated.

Halfway through the exchange and as Wang Kui walked along, a pink shadow suddenly appeared between the trees diagonally in front of Wang Kui.

'Is there someone on the mountain?'

'But didn't that gramps just mention earlier that the mountain was very dangerous, and no one would dare to climb it?'

'Could they be from the forestry department?'

Then, as Wang Kui continued forward, a green silhouette appeared in his vision, followed by purple, red, and orange!

More and more silhouettes rustled through the forest. However, the issue was that no matter how much Wang Hou called out to them, all of them remained still and did not react, simply standing there rigidly.

[What the hell?! Isn't this a little scary? Are those ghosts?!]

[The Wicked Ghost?]

[What normal person dresses like that? One each color without repetition—are they the Bottle Gourd Brothers?]

[F*ck… luckily it's daytime now, or someone would die from fright at night!]

[Did that guy in front of me just curse?!]

[This streamer has guts! If it was me, I would not have dared to keep going!]

Each one of the viewers was more frightened than the next.

Still, it was normal—anyone seeing such a scene deep within the mountains would certainly be scared witless.

To tell the truth, Wang Kui himself was unsure as well since the distance was too far for him to see what those silhouettes actually were. Still, with his years of experience in wildlife photography, he thought…

"Those aren't humans!"

What?!

That exclamation made all the viewers in the channel jump in surprise.

[Don't just spout nonsense, Old Kui! I'm scared!]

[Did we just switch to a paranormal streamer?!]

[Suggestion: change the room title to 'Old Kui the Ghost Hunter—Mountain Spirits Found in Livestream'. It would definitely sell!]

Meanwhile, Wang Kui put on a serious look and held up his fist. "People, don't spread superstition and do not fear. Let me teach you a technique. Face it with a smile, for the best solution for erasing fears is to face your fears! Fight on!"

The screen commenters went wild at his words.

[Is that you, Waldo?]

[Aren't you a funny one, Old Kui?]

[Troll Legion joins, fight on!]

[User 'Fried Joker' has gifted Bank Card x1! —Hehehe!]

[Hua Mulan takes her father's place in the army but misses her mother a lot at the barracks. Therefore, she embroidered her mother's face on her handkerchief, and her comrade asked: why are you sewing a picture of Waldo?!]

[User 'Wearing Undies Outside 111' has gifted Fishball x100!]

Many viewers were amused by Wang Kui's antics, drawing more viewers as the atmosphere improved.

In the blink of an eye, the live comment showed that a level-42 Viscount had entered.

The level cap on Tigerfish accounts was level 120, and one would reach the highest level only by completing objectives and farming gifts, though it would take over five million bucks to reach the upper limit.

Viscounts were therefore nobles and VIPs, and the ascending order of tiers were Rangers, Knights, Viscounts, Counts, Dukes, and God-Emperors, the latter of which needed a lot of money to clear.

"Thanks for your support, but back to subject at hand, I'll be leading everyone to see what that actually is!"

After the simple exchange, Wang Kui made his way toward the motionless silhouettes.

He had kept his camera attached over his chest on one of his backpack straps, using one of the accessories he had bought ahead of time.

Amidst very energetic breaths, the viewers could soon clearly see him walking along the mountain path overgrown with wild grass as he closed in on the silhouettes ahead.

Thanks to the anti-slip soles of the hiking shoes provided by his System as well as his experience in trekking provided by his Hunter Card, he was not affected much despite the disjointed mountain path.

Coupled with the super anti-shake of his lens, he offered all of his viewers a first-person perspective, just like in wildlife games, making it incredibly engrossing.

Ten paces.

Twenty paces.

As Wang Kui got closer to the silhouettes, his viewers could not help holding their breaths and getting nervous, almost as if it was not Wang Kui in the wild, but themselves!

Meanwhile, the silhouettes still did not move at all.

Still, everyone could glimpse through the foliage that someone was clearly wearing a pink long-sleeved shirt!

Even so…

Once Wang Kui had crossed the bushes ahead and found a suitable wide angle to see through, he found that the silhouettes…

Had no heads!
