It took Sentinel a few minutes to reach Jason's room, where Syssie was waiting for him. He must have been close by anyway, since he disabled her sleep cycle. Sentinel slipped inside and smiled at Syssie with an awkward expression.
"I know this is unusual. I hope I didn't alarm you when I forcefully kept you from shutting down."
"It's fine… I think. But why would you need to speak with me without Jason?" Syssie narrowed her eyes as she studied Sentinel's expression.
"Straight to the point?" Sentinel sighed while meeting Syssie's gaze. "I trust machines more than I do humans. My Power allows me to understand them better. You don't really need to worry about those details. I want to ask you. Can I trust Jason?"
Syssie frowned upon hearing Sentinel's question. "Why would you ask that?"
"I don't know Jason. Not personally, anyway." Sentinel took a deep breath as he paused. "But I need to know if he's someone that I can rely on."
