Chapter 27 - Chapter Twenty–Six: Dinner (3)

When Elliot entered the walk-in closet. he swooned seeing Charlotte in his clothes. He embraced her from the back and kissed her cheek before inhaling her scent. She smelt like him and he loved that fact.

"Ellie, you're going to catch a cold, wear something!" Elliot was still in a towel. Although now his cologne drifted to her nose and intoxicated her. Charlotte shook herself from her dazed and checked the time from the clock on the wall. "It's coming close to 8:30. Ellie we'll be late—and oh god I forgot to tell Alexa." Charlotte ran out of the room leaving Elliot. He sighed and then picked out his clothes. Suddenly an idea struck him. He remembered he had another vest similar to the one Charlotte was wearing.

He wore the same white shirt as Charlotte and the same checkered vest matching it with black trousers. When Charlotte returned back to the room she laughed at how cute Elliot was. "Aww did you want to match with me?" She teased. Elliot pouted and turned away. "No, it was a coincidence." He lied when he saw the teasing smile on her face. "Aww you're so cute!" Charlotte knew he was lying; she tiptoed and squished his cheeks.

In embarrassment Elliot stomped off. Even when they left he did not talk to her.He sulked most of the way there. Charlotte was driving hence she couldn't pacify him properly. She drove into the luxurious villa she spent most of her childhood in. She parked the car in the garage and turned to Elliot who was facing the window but he seemed to forget his reflection on the window. She saw him seeking glances at her. She hid her smile and cooed at him, "Baby~"

Elliot shrugged off the hand Charlotte placed on his biceps. "Honey, I think you're cute and I like the fact we're matching.  I was wrong to tease you earlier. I'm sorry."

"So you know you're wrong!" At last Elliot responded. Charlotte eagerly nodded. "Then you won't tease me again." He unconsciously pouted. Charlotte nodded, biting the inner of her cheeks to stop smiling. "Promise." She said as convincingly as she could. When she saw Elliots lips twitch fighting back the smile, she knew he was no longer mad.

Elliot handed the bouquet of flowers to Ruby who happily took them. "Oh it's so lovely to meet you Elliot darling."

Ruby was a short woman with bright red hair. She was pretty but she didn't have any noticeable features other than her overly sweet personality. Elliot being the giant he was, had to bend down to give the flowers to her. He was also confused on why Alexa hated the women so much. Since he and Alexa spent time swapping shifts to take care of Charlotte when she was conscious, the awkwardness around them disappeared along with the unfamiliar feeling.

When Charlotte texted Alexa to come home for dinner, he had instantly gotten rows of messages from her to complain about her Aunt. Of course Elliot ignored her, his girlfriend was the boss here.

"No, the pleasure is mine." Elliot replied back politely.

"Such a gentleman." Ruby complimented. She was very enthusiastic about Charlotte's boyfriend for she knew her sister–in–law had a very troublesome past. She hopes the stunning lady has a happy ending with the man she loves.

Elliot shyly nodded. Although he wasn't meeting Charlotte's parents for some reason he felt this would be similar to how he would meet her parents. While he hadn't met them Charlotte on the other hand was well acquainted with his mother. His mother insisted on visiting Charlotte in the hospital. When everyone was busy Abigail would accompany her future daughter in-law(as she would like to say) in the hospital. The two would chat, play games and talk about Elliot's childhood. During that time period they've come close which Elliot was ecstatic about; the two most important women in his life getting along.

"Alright, are you going to keep them in the entrance or let them in." Carlos cut in the conversation. Ruby glared at him but nonetheless followed after her husband. "Sorry I got carried away." Ruby meekly smiled . Charlotte and Elliot didn't mind. They returned a smile and weren't far behind. Ruby walked to the corner of the living room and got an empty vase. "I'll put these beautiful flowers in there," She explained when she noticed everyone was staring. She was leaving the living room when she remembered, "Dinner will be ready soon. I forgot to put the chicken in the oven so expect dinner to be a little late." Ruby apologised.

"That's fine." Charlotte reassured. "I'll give Ellie a tour of the house."

"Alright then I'll call you down for dinner. Honey, will you help in the kitchen!" Ruby called. Carlos sighed then bid the two to help his wife in the kitchen. "Charlie, Alexas in her room. Please talk to her." He pleaded to her before leaving. He didn't have to say anything else because he knew his sister understood what his words meant.

Charlotte hummed and pulled Elliot towards the stairs showing the marks of her childhood.

This is where her mother and father raised her and Carlos and then Alexa and then her little nephew. Her parents were never here since they were always travelling. They recently called her asking if she was okay. Carlos had informed them. They said they would book a flight immediately back but the soonest they could find was next weekend.

Elliot entered Charlotte's room and strangely wasn't surprised about the vast amount of red in her room. He glanced at her and smirked. He wondered how she was in her teenage years.

"What are you looking at me like that!? Red was my aesthetic in high school."

Elliot but the inside of his cheeks not to laugh. "Nothing baby." He shook his head as he entered further in the room and brushed his fingers across her red wall. With posters of rock bands to magazine covers and movie posters it was plastered everywhere in her room. Each corner was dedicated to a certain genre. Rom Coms, horror, action fantasy and what not.

Elliot recognised a lot of them such as The Notebook, Love Actually, Mean Girls, Avatar, the Oceans eleven, twelve and thirteen, The Matrix and Rush hour one, two and three with the iconic Jackie chan. There were other nostalgic movies stuck on the wall some of which Elliot and Charlotte watched together.

"Were you always interested in becoming a Director?" Elliot asked. He turned around to see Charlotte sitting on her bed, legs crossed and staring at him. He walked towards her and sat next to her, the bed dipping when he threw himself on there taking Charlotte with. "I was always fascinated by the behind the scenes. If you compared the before and after you would be so shocked at the difference."

"I know honey, I'm an actor," Elliot joked. Charlotte pushed Elliots chest slightly. They were both laying on the bed on their sides facing each other with Elliot's hand caressing her waist.
