"A show?"
"That's right. Despite Moran's directorial demeanor, as long as you hit her soft spot, she's easy to get along with."
This statement left the Warner Bros. team completely bewildered, not knowing what he was talking about. And Ovitz wasn't about to reveal the good cards he held.
"Don't worry, Moran is on vacation now. Wait for my good news when she returns."
"Then we'll leave it to you!"
Ovitz could thrive in Hollywood because of his ability to read people. He was very good at analyzing people's psychology and could understand what kind of person someone was and how to deal with them from some small details.
After contacting Laila, he knew that you couldn't judge this girl by her age alone. Although she was young, her way of handling things gave people a sense of unpredictability as if she could see the future through time and easily make decisions that others might need to consider for a long time.
For example, buying Marvel, and buying various copyrights at high prices like a madman. However, when she used those things to make more money, people would understand why she did it before.
Having foresight was a remarkable talent. Just based on this, Laila would achieve great success in any industry, even if she stopped directing.
But! Even the most perfect person would have some weaknesses that could be exploited. Ovitz had studied Laila, so he already knew her little weaknesses.
Calling them weaknesses might be exaggerated, but it couldn't be denied that they could indeed be used to accomplish certain things.
What was this weakness? Ovitz rubbed his smooth chin and revealed a smug smile. Of course, it was her interesting belief: "Nothing goes out of the family."
Laila was his boss and trusted him. He couldn't waste this rare trust, so he wouldn't directly offer to arrange a meeting between them. Although if he did arrange it, Moran would show up, it would not only upset his boss but also not benefit him in any way.
However, if he just used one of her adorable little weaknesses, it would be different. Not only would the task be accomplished, but she would also be happy herself. Why not do it?
So that night, Laila, who was still in Hawaii, received a call from Ovitz.
"Go on a show? With Nolan?"
"That's right. What's the hottest topic in Hollywood right now? Isn't it the box office battle between The Lord of the Rings and Batman? Everyone is curious about you two great directors. I think if you two appear on the show together, the TV ratings will definitely be good, right?"
Laila nodded thoughtfully. "You're right." She hadn't been on a show for a long time, and the old man hadn't approached her for any new ideas to improve ratings, knowing she was busy. Occasionally appearing on an NBC show wouldn't be bad. Most importantly, she did want to talk to Nolan.
"Why did you suddenly think of this?" she asked, curious. Ovitz smiled, "Boss if you don't work early, my artists won't get work. Don't you think it's time to give him back?"
Laila chuckled, "Don't tell me you care about that money, I don't believe it."
Roy's current status meant he wouldn't easily accept scripts or endorsements, so it was unlikely that he was too busy with work. And who was he? He was once the top Hollywood agent who sold AMG for a good price. He made money, more or less, just a number to him. She didn't believe he would call for such a ridiculous reason.
Ovitz didn't intend to hide it. Instead of lying and being caught by her, it was better to tell the truth now.
"In fact, it's a friend of mine who said Nolan wants to meet you and have a conversation. I think this is an opportunity. It's rare to invite you two, so why not take the opportunity to benefit your Moran TV station?"
He hit the nail on the head with Laila's thoughts.
Taking care of her own TV station while fulfilling her wishes, what else could she refuse?
"Am I very fierce?" After agreeing to the meeting and hanging up the phone, Laila looked at Roy next to her in confusion. "He could have come to me directly, but he chose to go through someone else. Do I give people the impression that I'm difficult to get along with, very fierce?"
Roy thought for a moment. "I don't think so. Maybe others would think so? Don't forget, you're their boss. If they don't have any respect for you, how can they work?"
"Well, maybe you're right," Laila shrugged. "I just don't understand why I give people that impression."
Roy cupped her face in his hands and looked at her carefully. "Maybe it's your eyes. Ice blue, they look very clear, but also very cold. Maybe it's the color of your eyes that gives people the wrong impression."
"Can it be like this?" Laila was a little dizzy. In her past life, everyone around her had black eyes, so she had never cared about eye color.
She jumped off the bed and ran into the dressing room, looking at herself in the mirror.
Looking at the pair of ice-blue eyes in the mirror, if you looked closely, they did seem to appear too cold, just like he said.
Roy followed her in, leaning against the wall with his arms crossed. "I think your eyes are beautiful."
"I think so too." Laila nodded earnestly, agreeing with him. How many Asians envied such eyes? She didn't need to wear colored contacts to have such a pair, how good.
Roy thought she might be hit by his words just now, so he hurriedly followed in to comfort her. He didn't expect her to say such words, obviously not taking his words to heart.
That's good, he didn't want his words to hurt her. And he really liked her eyes, especially when those clear eyes were filled with desire for him, he could clearly see his figure reflected in her pupils. Every time he saw it, he couldn't help but love her more fiercely. It would be best if he could imprint his figure directly into her soul through those eyes.
In Hollywood, Nolan soon received news that he would be participating in a talk show on NBC with Laila. This made him excited and nervous because he wasn't someone who could easily let go, and suddenly appearing on a TV show made him worry about messing things up.
"Don't worry, we'll arrange it so the host won't make things too difficult for you. And Moran will be there at the time too. With her presence, the host won't be too hard on you."
When Nolan heard this, he felt a little comforted, hoping that this meeting would allow them to have a good exchange!
But what the representative of the production side didn't say was that precisely because Laila was present, the host wouldn't dare to be too difficult on her, which meant that most of the focus would be on him to boost ratings...
But such words absolutely couldn't be said, otherwise, there might not even be a need for a meeting, and this stubborn director might just resign and leave.
