Chapter 587 - Chapter 587 - Watching the Fun and Not Minding Big Matters

This doesn't quite fit his understanding of Roy. Someone who has come all the way smoothly and now, with the help of his girlfriend, has reached the pinnacle of stardom, would naturally be proud and confident. It's hard to imagine him as someone who would silently endure frustration.

He expected Roy to call and either scold, threaten, or attempt reconciliation. In any case, he could turn the phone call into evidence favorable to Elisa.

However, to his surprise, not only did the call not come, but even online, Roy didn't express anything towards Elisa, as if he didn't care about her at all.

Yes, Hollywood is known for using people, but can there be someone directly involved who could completely ignore the situation?

He's a star! A top actor who can easily earn $20 million for a movie! Could he not be worried about Laila? Not worried that she might break up with him over this? Or is he so confident that Laila won't leave him?

The Agent speculated, unable to calm down for a long time. Too many unexpected and incomprehensible things were swirling in his mind.

In his expectations, things shouldn't have developed like this. The situation's progression was completely different from his previous experiences in Hollywood. The expected rage from Roy and news of him breaking up with Laila didn't happen. Even if they were just putting on a show, they shouldn't be so intimate. Wasn't the news still reporting that they spent Christmas together at the Moran house in New York?

Watching Laila's statement on the computer, he gritted his teeth and, using Elisa's Facebook account, wrote another paragraph in her style: "It's all my fault. I am willing to bear all the blame. Please don't blame him, and please bless him and her!"

Who "he" and "her" referred to, anyone following her knew.

Her words were vague, but the people commenting were not. Some, clearly seeing her malicious intentions, pointed it out directly: "They were doing fine, and you had to stick your nose in. They got injured, went for treatment, and got photographed. Why are you talking so ambiguously? Who gave you the audacity to interfere with their publicity?"

Some sympathized with her being criticized: "Don't force yourself too much. Be careful with the baby." "The child is innocent; even if you lose love, at least you have evidence of the love you once had."

Others were just there for the drama: "Go for it! If you can snatch Roy back from Laila, I'll collect every film you act in and worship it!" "Exactly! Cinderella has a prince; your prince is just a step away. Seize him!"

However, some of the following comments, or rather, a significant portion of them, puzzled the Agent. These comments were all cursing Roy, using all kinds of harsh words to smear him, some of them even obviously inciting trouble.

He knew these were likely internet trolls trying to muddy the waters. But what confused him was that these trolls were on his side! This meant that someone was trying to take Roy down, and at the very least, make him fall hard.

This is not right! If it were Moran making a move, they would surely try to whitewash Roy and not desperately blacken him. If it was a self-blackening move to gain attention, the negative comments were too harsh, almost intentionally leading him to a downfall.

So, he had to consider the possibility that someone was using this opportunity to ruin Roy. This hidden figure wasn't necessarily Roy's enemy; it could be Moran's adversary. Otherwise, there was no reason to spend so much money to orchestrate this event.

Thinking this way, some things started to make sense. Like how a photo could ferment so quickly, why there was no evidence tying Roy and Elisa together, and why a child was brought into the picture without any proof.

The Agent's heart jumped, feeling like he might have gotten entangled in murky waters. Whether this would propel Elisa to great wealth or drag her into the swamp of hell could only be determined by the outcome of the game between the hidden figure and Moran. As for someone like him, he wasn't even worth their attention.

If he was lucky, he might use this opportunity to push Elisa to the second or even first tier of stardom. If he wasn't lucky...

In a battle of titans, aren't people like him the ones who die?

The Agent couldn't help but shiver. Even if he wanted to let go now, he had no chance. The only thing he could do was go with the flow and see who would come out as the winner in the end!

Even a minor figure like a struggling actor's Agent could see what Laila couldn't ignore. She not only knew about the numerous trolls smearing Roy but also that the person behind this had bought off many media outlets, releasing unfavorable news about Roy. Some TV shows were even making a mockery of Roy's situation. All signs indicated that if this continued, it would only get worse for him.

"Mr. Ovitz, shouldn't you take action now?" Laila, on an afternoon, enjoying the warm winter sun in the glass enclosure of the greenhouse, called Roy's Agent, Michael Ovitz.

Michael laughed twice, "Is this enough? Don't we want to see the upcoming show?"

"Enough or not is not for me to decide; it depends on you." Laila knew she shouldn't meddle too much, and she knew that letting the scandal continue would only make it spread further and give Roy's career a boost. But things were troublesome enough, and she didn't want to see those people continue to defame him.

"Laila, I thought you would be more rational. This impulsive behavior doesn't seem like you." He hadn't forgotten how this young girl had plotted against his company before. He didn't expect to see her in a situation where she seemed lost. Huh? Why does this feel so satisfying in my heart? Very refreshing!

Laila's mouth twitched. Why did she detect a hint of "you also have your moments" in his words? "Roy is my boyfriend and an important family member."

When the family is hurt, how many people can remain rational?

Ovitz clicked his tongue, "Is he already family? Well, I already know your opinion of him. So, Laila, how do you plan to save him?"

Laila chuckled, "Aren't you his Agent? Shouldn't you be the one saving him?"

"You are his boss, as well as his girlfriend. If you want this matter to end smoothly, you'll have to personally intervene." Ovitz smiled mysteriously.
