Laila had long stopped doubting her work abilities. She was about to send her back to work when Louise spoke again.
"Laila, I forgot to mention something. Regarding the song Roy sang, there are several companies interested in buying it from us."
Sell the song? Laila absentmindedly tapped her fingers on the desk. To be honest, in Hollywood, the status of music stars was somewhat inferior to that of film stars, and she had no intention of promoting Roy as a singer. Selling the song might indeed be more profitable in terms of copyright, but the value this song could bring was too high. It was so high that she didn't believe any company would be willing to pay that much for it.
If the price wasn't right, there was no reason for her to give away the money.
"What prices are they offering?"
"Anywhere from 100,000 to 500,000, plus royalties." Louise thought this was a very good deal. Selling a song for tens of thousands was already impressive, and considering the current popularity of the song, royalties would likely add up significantly. She, like Laila, didn't see much value in turning Roy into a full-fledged singer. Compared to the earnings of even a single big-budget movie, the hard work of singers didn't compare.
"That's too little," Laila shook her head. "There's still a lot of potential in this song. Wait a bit longer, and if there are more sincere offers from other companies, let me know."
Louise was puzzled, "How much is considered sincere?"
"More than 10 million, plus royalties."
"(⊙o⊙)" Louise was taken aback, thinking she might have heard something wrong. Given the boss's usually composed nature, she didn't think she would throw out such an extravagant figure. Did she really believe the song was worth over 10 million?
But that seemed incredibly unbelievable for just one song.
"Will anyone be willing to pay that much?" She asked with an uncertain tone, but deep down, she was sure no one would spend that much money to buy a song. Even for a megastar hit, it didn't seem to reach that level, considering Roy's rendition.
Laila didn't seem to mind. "If no one buys it, so be it. What do you think about producing a CD for Roy with this song?"
She could "write" one song; she could write more. Using her previous method, she could easily reproduce classic songs from her previous life. Imagine a music CD filled with classic songs. It would drive the public crazy.
Suddenly, she felt like she had a brilliant idea, and her eyes narrowed with a mischievous smile. "Yes, that's it. Go contact some companies and see which one is willing to help Roy release a CD with songs we'll provide."
Louise was a bit slow to catch up with the boss's train of thought. They had just been discussing selling the song, and now it had turned into producing a CD. However, she knew better than to question the boss's decisions. All she could say was, "OK."
Once Louise left, Laila continued to watch the TV with a smile, eager to see the coverage of yesterday's Super Bowl. To her, all these talk shows were just praises of her achievements. Would anyone enjoy having their success buried in the annals of history?
She turned on the TV, flipped through a few channels, and soon found a program related to her. However, the subtitles and the person featured on the screen made her furrow her brows.
"Deceiver?" A large question mark appeared on the screen, and the person on TV was none other than Faiza, completely covered in a black veil.
On the television, she was speaking passionately.
"Everyone says her movies are well-made, her plans are ingenious, and everything about her is outstanding. Now, she claims to have composed and written a song, and I'm highly skeptical of anyone who can be a genius in so many different areas. Perhaps she does have a talent for filmmaking, so it's not surprising that she has some knowledge of editing. But planning? That's a talent entirely unrelated to filmmaking."
At this point, the host interrupted, "As far as I know, she handles all the promotion for her films, and some have even praised her as one of the most talented planners."
"Heh," Faiza sneered, "Is that what you think? Please don't forget who stands behind her. It's the entire Moran Media Group. If she couldn't even come up with a few good ideas, how could she possibly manage that?"
The host immediately put on an excited expression, "So, you believe that the planning schemes she presents are actually devised by the advisors behind the Moran Group?"
Faiza smiled and diverted the topic, "Let's take another look at the song that has been making headlines. She claims to have created it all by herself. I'm very curious about where she learned all that. As far as I know, she spent almost her entire childhood bedridden, and her education didn't include any instruments that would require strenuous effort. Think about it, How can someone who doesn't even know how to play an instrument compose music and write songs?"
The host nodded thoughtfully, "It does seem that way. But maybe she's a true genius, which is why she created a song that everyone loves?"
Faiza scoffed, "A genius? Does anyone believe that someone can be a genius in so many different fields? Repeatedly achieving things that others find impossible in different domains? No matter what others say, I simply don't believe it."
The host grinned, "Is that your opinion, or is it related to recent events in your life?"
Faiza lowered her head and pulled out a handkerchief to wipe her eyes, "It seems like many people already know about the unfortunate incident that happened to me. Yes, I don't deny that I'm targeting her. But I believe others share my sentiments."
The host was more interested in her emotions, "Can you talk about the situation between you and Prince Al Nadeem? I think many viewers are very interested in your mysterious country."
"Our country is a very beautiful one, rich in oil reserves. Prince Al Nadeem is a charming royal, and my father took a long time to choose him as a suitable husband for me, to ensure my future happiness."
"So why was the engagement canceled? Did you and the prince not get along?"
"Not at all!" Faizah vigorously shook her head, "The prince and I had a great relationship. We were very close even when we were back in our homeland. I always thought our bond was unbreakable until I met that woman."
"She stole my fiancé. I don't know how she did it, but she did. Everyone says she's a witch who knows magic, and I used to think it was just an exaggerated saying. But now I've become the person who understands it the most, and it's quite a ridiculous thing."
