Not only did the two programs she mentioned shock Oswald, but the solutions she proposed were equally dizzying.
Take "Project Runway" for instance. According to the reality show rules she set, the winning designers of "Project Runway" would not only receive a certain amount of prize money but also have the opportunity to hold an exclusive fashion show during Fashion Week.
Moreover, they could receive Janet's assistance in establishing their brands. The models could sign exclusive contracts with Laila's talent agency and automatically gain the privilege to walk for Moran brands. Most importantly, they could have the chance to be featured in a popular fashion magazine under Moran Media!
Oswald wasn't a fool. He understood how attractive these propositions were to new designers and models. Their presence would also greatly benefit various enterprises of the Moran family. To sum it up in one phrase, it was a win-win situation. To describe it with two words, it was "cunning, too cunning."
Not only could she use reality shows to boost TV ratings and gain public attention, but she could also leverage the opportunity to benefit various family businesses. And in the end, she would receive the gratitude of the talented individuals selected through the auditions.
One had to possess an incredibly sharp mind to come up with such ideas!
Unable to see Oswald's expression, Laila assumed he was still contemplating and said, "If you're too busy, it's alright. I guess the team working on 'American Idol' is already quite busy, right?"
"Too busy?!" Oswald finally snapped back to reality and exclaimed, "Are you saying I'm wasting money by paying them such high salaries for nothing? Don't even mention two new shows; even if you came up with a few more, there would still be people capable of producing them. So, go ahead and prepare a project proposal. When the time comes, I'll have Anthony get in touch with you."
"I thought Anthony is responsible for 'American Idol,'" Laila replied.
"Who says one person can't handle two tasks? If that kid can't handle something as small as this, how will he ever assist you in the future?" Oswald retorted.
Laila understood. It seemed that Oswald's earlier talk of promoting him to be her future assistant was not a joke. Perhaps his responsibility for program planning was a test of his capabilities as well. Knowing this, she refrained from saying more.
"Alright, I'll call him after I finish writing the proposal."
After chatting a bit more with her grandfather, Laila hung up the phone.
Writing the project proposal was easy for her. She sat in front of her computer, planning to document some of the details she remembered from her past life. However, as she typed, her fingers gradually stopped moving. Instead of thinking about the rules of the show, her mind was flooded with images from the current photoshoot.
The setups for both programs were already complete, and the resulting photos had received praise from both upper management at Victoria's Secret and the models. However, Laila wasn't satisfied. To her, those images were merely good, but she believed there was even more potential waiting to be unearthed.
Her backup idea was a bit risky. Bringing all those stunning models to her theme park could potentially backfire if the effect wasn't what she hoped for. People might accuse her of using the models to promote her park, which wouldn't be an accurate representation of her park's offerings. The constant addition of new film scenes guaranteed that her theme park would never be empty of visitors, so there was no need to resort to such measures.
This was the reason for her hesitation all along.
After thinking for a while and failing to come up with a solution, she decided to open a web browser and search for information related to theme parks.
It didn't take long for her to find a relatively large website. It was a platform dedicated to discussing horror movies, with specific sub-forums for popular films. Coincidentally, several of Laila's movies were included, and instead of separate sub-forums, they had a dedicated section for her films, encompassing discussions about all the movies she had released.
The thread discussing the theme park was located in her sub-forum, and it was a popular topic with thousands of replies.
Upon opening the thread, she saw that the original poster had shared numerous photos taken within the park, meticulously comparing them to scenes from her movies. In addition to the eerie settings, the poster also included a picture of a distinctive theme park meal.
The dish appeared gruesome, resembling raw meat, accompanied by several eye-like objects, a drink that seemed like blood, and the most revolting of all, a white brain-like substance placed on one side of the plate.
The poster mentioned that despite the repulsive appearance, the items were quite delicious. The brain was made of cake, and the eye-like objects were gummy candies and jelly, in short, everything was edible.
The subsequent replies were filled with playful banter, but after seeing the pictures taken by the original poster, the readers grew interested in the theme park. Particularly, the unsettling meal piqued their curiosity, and many expressed a desire to taste it.
This brought a smile to Laila's face. Louise was indeed reliable. Just from a casual suggestion, she had managed to develop this dish and earned positive feedback in no time. It seemed like a salary raise was in order.
As Laila continued to read, she was captivated by a reply. The author, who had a beautiful profile picture, suggested that having a few eye-catching beauties appear in such a terrifying place might make things more interesting.
This viewpoint garnered support from numerous people, with some even saying that watching beautiful women scream in a horror movie was a form of entertainment.
As she read on, Laila absentmindedly tapped her fingers on the table. She had initially considered the idea of shooting lingerie advertisements at the theme park to be far-fetched and absurd, but it turned out that someone else had thought of the same thing.
With this realization, she finally made up her mind. Why bother with so many concerns? As long as the desired effect was achieved, did it matter if people gossiped behind her back?
"Demi," she dialed a number on her phone, "help me arrange something. I want to take a group of people to the theme park the day after tomorrow and conduct a closed-door session."
"Alright, Miss Moran." Demi crawled out of the bathtub in a hurry, not even bothering to dry herself before rushing to jot down Laila's words in her notebook. "Should I arrange a flight for you?"
"Um." Laila hesitated for a moment. "Ask the driver to come over. I prefer driving on the highway." Las Vegas was only a few hours' drive from Los Angeles, and she'd rather endure a car journey than take a flight.
"Understood. I'll make the arrangements. Will it be alright for you to be ready by 10 AM the day after tomorrow?"
"That's fine. You should come along too. I'll have something for you to do."
Demi's heart leaped with joy. Did this mean she was gaining more of Miss Moran's trust?
