The bell towers ring, announcing that it is now noon. Guards were going off their breaks and some were going on theirs, the civilians were walking and talking to each other for periods at a time. Fathers and mothers were getting their children food from the shops. Today announced 8 years of peace, ever since that day occurred.
There I stood, on top of a bell tower. I was cloaked and hidden well, I stared at the peace. That's what the queen took from me, having banished me from this kingdom and I surprisingly haven't gotten caught yet. It proves the lack of guards this place has.
I looked at the bell as it stopped ringing, the first time I did this I almost fell off due to how loud it was. I am either going deaf or I am significantly getting used to loud sounds. The bell tower was shiny which mirrored me, my orange curly hair and green eyes glistened, I adjusted the hood so it barely showed my hair.
That reminds me that Cara has a new cloak for me, this one was getting slightly torn. She might be at her little house in the woods, yes I am friends with a witch; but she is also the one that took me in and cared for me, I still don't count her as my parents. I wonder what my parents are doing now, although I don't think they have me on their mind at all. They believed the queen over me.
You kicked out a child, I was only 10. Now I am 18. How dare you send a child out in the wild to die, my story was invalidated by everyone except for Cara. She believed me, I was being attacked by these 3 men and I blanked out, just to wake up and see that they were all dead. I was still covered in blood and I didn't remember a thing. Cara calls me a special human being, I usually don't remember tense incidents that have occured over the years. A bear attacked us and I blacked out and its head was cut off in a clean swipe.
I believe there is something inside of me that I woke up that day, and it's something evil. But it seems that it isn't killing others without a reason. Cara never tells me what it is, or what it does to the things it kills. But, it is something very dark and I feel it at times. Sometimes I can't control my movements; but that only happened once when a dog tried biting me, I moved swiftly and it was out of control.
I looked at the big beautiful castle, the rooftops were golden and the structure was insanely beautiful. Whoever built this was an artist. I wish I was still friends with them.
Two guards stood at this red wooden door, it was the colour of rosè wine. "Open the door!" a soft voice echoed in the hallway, the two guards turned their heads to see who it was. It was the princess.
She stood there, her arms crossed. She was wearing a yellow comfortable hat. She always wore it, there hasn't been a person who has seen her full head. Her brown hair ran down to her elbows. She had blue eyes, she was wearing a blue dress and white leggings.
"Yes, Princess Tohru." The guard on the left reached for the doorknob and opened it, she walked inside. "Thank you." She walked inside; it was her room. The guard closed the door. She sat on her bed and looked at her wardrobe. "What should I wear for the dance?" She tilted her head. "Hmph, this dance only happens once a decade… It's a shame I wouldn't be able to share it with Oliver." She sat up on her bed and went down on her knees, grabbing a chest.
She pointed her finger at it and twirled her finger around, hearing a click. "Excellent." She mumbled and opened it, revealing all the things she had hidden from her parents. There was a drawing. "Oliver made this for me…" She sighed. "I believed him and It didn't work…"
"The Queen!" The Guard announced her mothers presence, the mention of the name Oliver was banned in Deru. She quickly put the drawing in the chest, closed it and shoved it under her bed. She went over to the wardrobe and opened it as the queen walked in. "How is my lovely daughter doing?" She smiled, she had purple eyes and long white hair. "I'm doing okay. I am just getting ready for the dance…"
"You are preparing a day early. I am impressed. Your father has left Deru to take care of some business in the Wolken lands." She walked over to Tohru and analysed her wardrobe. "What do you think of picking?" She kissed her cheek. "I think I am picking this." She grabbed a green dress, it reminded her of Oliver.
The Queen looked at Tohru. "How about this one?" She pointed at the black dress. "You always look beautiful in black." She smiled and handed her the black dress before walking out of the room. Tohru sighed and put the black dress back in the wardrobe, it is tempting to go against her mothers words.
Tohru went over to the window and looked outside of it, she analysed the kingdom, it was more beautiful during the night. She looked at a specific bell tower, seeing a cloaked figure; but she couldn't make out who it was.
I looked at Tohru and my eyes widened, she spotted me. I backed up and jumped off of the bell tower. Tohru watched and her eyes widened, was this a suicide attempt? No, this was something else. Tohru flipped off her heels and put on her boots. She ran out of her room. "It's almost dinner time, princess!" A guard warned her.
"Yeah, yeah. I know!" She ran down the stairs and opened the door, staring at the bell tower ahead. "They were there!" She sprinted off into the kingdom.
She was questioning if it was him, knowing he was able to climb big things at a young age. It better be him, she remembered seeing the signs of what he is.
I landed on my two feet, despite how tall the bell towers were. The hood fell off due to the wind, my right eye felt fuzzy and I looked at a puddle, my right eye was purple. It had a black pupil centering a light purple circle near the pupil. My eyes widened. After all these years of wondering what controls me when I am in life threatening moments…
"He is…" He stopped in her tracks, staring at me. I was still staring at the puddle in awe. "A forbidden curse user." Tohru spoke in a calm tone, I heard her and turned to face her.. "Tohru?" She smiled and nodded.
