Chapter 12 - Chapter 12

Princess Liviana's POV

"Lili?" I hold my breath as I looked at the man who just called my name. He was standing in front of me, looking surprised. "What are you doing here?" He asked. He walked near me and held my hand.

The majesties instructed me to welcome the representative from another kingdom, but I never thought that would be him. Seeing him in this kingdom is the last thing I want to happen, especially now that I am married. "Hey, what's wrong?" I was back to my senses when someone aggressively grabbed his hand who about to hold my face like he used to do.

"What's the meaning of this?" I was shocked to see your highness furiously looking at him. "You must be Prince Philip."

"Your highness!" I grabbed his hand from Philip's hand. "What are you doing?" I asked him.

"What is this guy doing to you?" He asked back. "Do you know each other?"

"What's Lili doing here?" Philip asked. "Will you let go of her hand!" Philip shouted as I looked at our hands. I quickly removed my hand from his and stepped back. Your highness looked at me disappointedly.

"Who are you to order me around?" He turned to Philip again and yelled. "May I remind you that you're in my territory?"

"I don't give a damn! What is she doing here?" Philip asked as he pointed at me.

"What do you care? How did you know her?" Your highness asked. I cannot say anything but to just looked at them.

"Gentlemen!" We saw the Queen walking elegantly towards us. "The meeting is about to start. Pull yourself together and follow me." She said seriously.

The two Princes looked at each other angrily before following the Queen. I exhaled once they're in the meeting room. It's insane. Of all people that could be the representative, why Philip? How could I answer his question about why I am here?

"Having trouble, Lili?" I almost jumped in surprise. I didn't even notice that Connor's beside me.

"I am not." I answered, avoiding his gaze.

"Prince Philip is the youngest Prince of their kingdom. He's not the Crown Prince, but he's handling most of their kingdom's issues." He explained the fact that I already know. "This is the first time that my brother met him, and in an instant, they're enemies because of a certain girl." He added while smiling mischievously. I rolled my eyes on him to avoid his interrogation and turned around to walk away, but he's quick to block my way. "No one's getting away from me, my dear sister." His eyebrows moved up and down while his eyes are sparkling with excitement.

I sighed as a sign of defeat. "Please promise me that you're not going to tell to anyone, especially to your older brother." I pleaded, and he nodded multiple times. I sighed again and told him about Prince Philip.

He was shaking his head while smiling naughtily. "This is exciting." He said.

"What?" I asked, confused.

"I am just curious what will my brother would react once he found out." He exclaimed.

"I told you not to—"

"He will find out soon, Lili. You cannot hide this fact from him forever. He's a possessive guy." He said. My eyebrows knitted.

"What are you blabbering about? He's not in love with me for him to be possessive over me." I chuckled as I shook my head. That is unbelievable.

"You'll never know, Lili. People change." He said as he smiled genuinely.

"Well, my past with Prince Philip is not important anymore. I am married to your brother now; I don't want to regret anything." I smiled at him.

"Being our sister-in-law won't make you think to regret. Who wouldn't want handsome brother-in-law, right?" He said his down-to-earth remark. I sighed.

"I hope they're getting along." I said.

"I doubt that." Connor said as he walked away while waving his hand.

After few hours, I heard that the meeting has ended. "Lili!" I saw Philip walking towards me. "It's good to see you again." He said, beaming.

"Indeed, Prince Philip. How have you been?" I asked, smiling.

"Prince Philip? What's with the formality? You never called me—"

"Didn't I tell you not to talk to her, Prince Philip?" Your highness suddenly appeared with an unpleasant aura around him. What has gotten into this guy?

"You're not my King to command me around." Philip said.

"Your highness, I would like to ask for your permission to talk with Prince Philip privately." I asked him as I bowed.

"I am rejecting your request, Princess." He said seriously. I looked at him surprisingly. "I don't want to see you talking with other guys unless he's the King or my brothers." He said and forcedly grabbed my hand and dragged me away from Prince Philip. I was able to look at Prince Philip apologetically.

I don't know what he was angry about, but I decided not to speak until we reached his room. "Will you please tell me what's going on?" I asked when he let go of my hand. My eyes widen when he suddenly pinned me on the wall, I was between his both arms. I gulped as I got nervous about what's he's going to do. I can sense his anger towards me.

"Let me remind you that you're my wife." His face is just an inch away from me, and he's looking directly into my eyes. Those brown eyes are glowing again, I cannot even take my eyes off him. I felt my heart beats fast. "You'll do what I tell you to do, my Princess. I don't want you to talk to him anymore, understand?" He said in a deep and grave tone.

"What's the matter? He's a friend of mine." I protested.

"I don't fcking care!" He shouted while glaring at me. "Tell me why he's calling you Lili, explain to me why did you allow him to hold your hand and touched your face!"

I feel like my whole body got numb, and my breathing stopped for a few seconds. I didn't know that he witnessed those scenes earlier. I have no idea that it matters to him. I didn't know that my actions can affect him that much. What's with the sudden change of heart? Am I still looking at the same Prince who told me that I should not expect anything from this marriage?

"I apologize, your highness." I said as I breathe heavily. "I had no idea that Prince Philip will come and do such things." I explained.

"What is he to you?" He asked calmly as I lowered my gaze. I was hesitant to tell him our story because none of that matter anymore. However, I also think that he deserves to know.

"He was my childhood friend, and he was my first and last heartbreak so far." I answered as I'm trembling.
