"Did you hear?" Spoke a nurse in a hushed tone behind the reception desk.
"Hear what?" Replied her colleague as her hands diligently stacked a bunch papers and lined up a few clipboards with attached patients names.
"I heard Nurse Cilia got herself a human patient" the nurse exclaimed as her colleagues hand froze over the key board she had been applying and typing notes through. "A human huh?"
"Yeah the boy's body was practically shattered upon arrival! I heard he was hit by an oil truck, like how insane! I'm amazed he's still alive-"
"You think humans are weak, don't you Miss Maria?" Sensing a change in the atmosphere Maria froze on spot. She watch her colleague in a surprised and stunned way, 'humans were weak though' she thought there would be no issue stating common fact. Suddenly her nurse assistant stood up, Maria not knowing what to do as her colleagues body swung around in a fierce dynamic to face her.
Nurse Maria was an exceptional staff employee, she worked hard and did her job with haste and satisfaction. She was recently assigned this next assistant Miss Jie and expected great things from her. Jie was just as prone and diligent to work as herself and she prided nurturing the woman however, Jie's emotions would get the best of her.
"Well humans are a lower subspecies to us, that is just common knowledge for the world-
Suddenly Jie's hands slammed on a file desk in front of them. Making Maria for the first time flinch at her actions.
"Humans are not weak..." mumbled Jie as she looked at her hands morphing slowly into claws. Before she raise her head up in defiance. "Humans are stronger then you or myself, they endure hardships and hate daily and are hurt mentally and physically daily! Yet they don't give up, even when they want too! Even when no one wants them around because people are too blind to see that we would be just like them! If the light purge never happened, we still would have just been human like before! We would be just like them! Yet everyone forgets that! They forget what they once were!"
Tears streamed down jie's face as Maria watched in shock, the hours for visiting were over so the halls were quiet and calm. Yet Maria on edge could only her both jie's and her heartbeat echo through her ears.
Jie's face contorted into slight phrase (where one's body is almost if not fully half their 'Second gender' to the surface). The rest of her body not far behind as the desk beneath Jie's hands groaned at the new round strength and pressure.
"They are tougher then you and me, no matter what anyone thinks!" She finished in a hiss, Jie's blood seemed to flow through her veins at impressive speeds. It was amazing that only her face and hands had transformed but not her body in her emotional rant. Letting go of the desk it cried as the pressure was relieved. "I'm done for the day anyway." Grabbing her belongings as her features slowly receded.
Nurse Maria not knowing she had been barely just standing up, dropped to the ground. She knew what she signed up for when she allowed a young nurse to help her but this was beyond what she imagined. Jie was strong, her aura was so impressive for a young age. It was always a confusing thought that would entertain her mind 'why didn't Jie become a hunter?'. Slumping on the floor, Maria's legs shook, such power but such bold words for those below them?
Jie marched as she focused on her breathing the best to her ability. 'Well humans are a lower subspecies to us-' she gripped her bag tighter as Maria's words found glee in tormenting her mind. Humans had never been weak to her, in fact, she had wanted to be one. Normal, no ties to the DNA structure that bonded her soul to another in the form of a matter core (Matter Core, the share space between one's 'Second gender' and human counterpart, allows the extract use and performance of any abilities or attributes one may have). She just wanted to be like the one person she looked up too. Stopping at a door in the hospital her features now fully disclosed from her animal counterpart. Her wrist swiped the door with an access bracelet. Automatically the door opened as Jie took in the room she had seen many times over the years.
There next to the flowing white curtains in that white crisp clean bed that floated off the ground with magnetic suspension. A young woman not too much younger than Jie herself laid resting in an almost peaceful state. Walking in the room's door automatically closed behind her as she took herself to sit at the bedside of the young woman in a chair.
This was Jie's burden. The reason Jie never became a hunter and sought after medicine instead was for this younger woman before her. Her sister, who was in fact, a human.
