For the last two hours, she had been wanting to say a lot of things to Steve and her mind was gathering thoughts and words she wanted to tell him.
So, once she saw him, she poured her heart out.
Steve listened to her apology calmly without interrupting her after she was done, he asked, "Then why did you not call me?"
"Because I was scared of angering you further"
"How could you anger me further by calling? You angered me by not calling"

"No, don't apologize using words, show how sorry you are in your actions" Steve's anger was gone as soon as he saw her face but seeing how guilty and sorry, she was, he decided to have some fun with her.
