"Can you please not tell Steve about my feelings? I won't be able to show my face to him if he knows what I feel" Erica requested her as the thought of Steve's mother telling Steve the truth about her feelings, terrified her.
She did not want to lose her friend.
"Don't worry, I won't tell him" Steve's mother assured her.
"Please promise me that you really won't" Erica was still scared and looked like she would cry if she does not get this promise.
Steve's mother smiled at her and she entangled Erica's little finger with hers and said, "I promise you; I will never tell Steve about your feelings and it is a secret between the two of us"
Erica felt better as it didn't feel like Steve's mother was lying to her but rather, she meant it"
