Chereads / I Can Never Stop Loving You / Chapter 15 - Most Annoying Thing

Chapter 15 - Most Annoying Thing

"What about you? Dating anyone?" He asked her.

"Well I did go out on dates but never liked anyone, men feel threatened by women more successful than them."

"Ignore such men, they are not good enough for you." He then thought of something and suggested, "I have a few friends, how about I set you up with one of them."

Steve's words hurt her and then she thought to herself what was she suddenly expecting, for him to fall in love with him.

"Sure, do that" She didn't reject his generosity.

"Steve, why are you suddenly in Seattle?" Although Jack gave her some information he still didn't reveal more details so she directly asked Steve.

"The reason behind my visit is very confidential…"

"Oh then let it be" Erica interrupted him.

Steve laughed, "Your habit of interrupting people still didn't go away, did it?"

"Excuse me?" Erica frowned at him.

"When someone is about to say something, you already predict what they are going to say in the middle of the sentence itself and you complete it or you act accordingly even before they finish it."

His words triggered Erica's memories which she somewhere locked away in her mind and never lets her recollect them.

Even during their highschool days Steve used to point this out about her and she used to laugh it away.

"Now you remember?" He asked her.

"Hmm, you always used to say this."

"I am glad you took my advice seriously."

"What advice?" Erica raised her eyebrows at him.

"Remember how I once advised you that you would be a good lawyer and you actually wanted to be an architect. I was glad when you decided to go to Stanford Law but I never got a chance to tell you that."

"Yeah, in the final year you were always busy with Lisa." Erica taunted him, she really tried not to but she couldn't control her sarcasm.

The entire last year of their high-school Steve was always busy with Lisa, so much that he never even messaged her back.

"What? Are you kidding me?" Steve glared at her, with his arms folded in front of him and his eyebrows furrowed in anger.

"Are you seriously denying it?" Erica too got angry seeing his attitude not because he ignored her in high school but because now he was behaving as if he didn't.

"Yes, because it was you who were too busy to meet me and I still don't know why."

Erica couldn't believe he was pushing all the blame onto her.

"Fine, it was my fault." Erica was not interested in continuing this argument so she decided to let it be.

"See, this is the problem" Steve complained.

"What do you mean?" Erica got irritated.

"If there is something we are talking about, you just walk away in the middle of it." Steve complained in anger.

"I just accepted that it is my fault. What else do you want?" Erica was controlling herself to not shout at him.

"I want to know why you blamed me first?"

"Are you serious?" Ercia too looked at him with her hands folded in front of her chest.

"Yes, I am serious, I tried to meet you so many times, and you were not there and Lisa told me how you were busy with one thing or another and you know what was even more annoying?" Steve frustratedly shouted at her but Erica was surprised with his words and she kept quiet trying to process what he was saying.

Seeing her quiet Steve continued, "The most annoying thing was it was not you who were directly telling me about your schedule but you kept sending me all these messages and information through Lisa."
