The negotiations finished easily contrary to my expectations. I guess it can be attributed to a lot of factors at play. When we met the Village Chief, a comely middle-aged man, he readily listened to what I had to say. But it wasn't to the extent of it looking as if he was currying favor. The man was not servile at the slightest, but he wasn't rude at the same time. He bore himself with respect and gave me a chance to state my piece. I offered to buy the land beyond the windmills that they deem as useless. The Chief looked at me strangely after that, probably because he knew that the place had poisonous plants in it. He politely inquired if we could inform him of the reason why we wanted that particular land.
