Eve blinked. In this moment, the universe just made no sense. A talking zombie? A talking zombie that knew HER NAME? It was as if the sky suddenly turned green.
Then reality hit like a sledgehammer. Yes, the zombie talked and knew her name, the sky was green, and that could only mean troubles worse than she had ever imagined.
Duglas's eyes were wide like saucers. "He is talking about you, Doctor Ziffer! How could it know your name?"
Eve realised she stood with the similar expression, and picked up her hanging jaw. 'Please, ask more questions I can't have answers for,' she thought to herself. 'Like it's not obvious from my expression that I'm as shocked as you are.'
On the other side of the walls, Nexus waited without another movement. A single glance at him was enough to put another question in her mind: how long would he continue to do that?
