By the time Eve and Victor reached their apartment, she had reached an ultimate decision to put the relationship stuff in the back-burner, where it belonged, at least until the situation with Hailett was over. Victor accepted that decision in silent agreement.
Then, she didn't have time to think about even if she wanted to. When Eve returned to the labs on the next day, Silvia chose aggression over caution and showered Eve with tasks. Eve didn't know if their primary purpose was to make her slip and let Silvia a reason to berate her again, or if they were supposed to a be punishment by themselves.
A little of both, probably. Eve respected Silvia as a specialist and a manager, but that didn't diminish the hate they felt towards each other. If Eve had two words to say about her, they were "egoistic bitch". At least her previous assaulter was too afraid to do anything but glare at her.
