Chapter 61 - The Forbidden Dungeon!

The intensity of the roars coming from ahead made me want to run away from the area.

We moved forward, unknowing of where to find the dungeon. After a five minutes' walk, another roar was heard. This one was really loud and close. Our movements were now slower and we were almost shivering while walking.

About 10 minutes passed by and we assumed we had reached the center of the jungle. We looked around and Xavier screamed. "There!" He exclaimed and pointed to our right. A big opening was present, the entrance of a cave. I knew it was where we needed to go. On one side, a small banner said Danger Ahead! Do not proceed!!! The banner itself looked creepy with blood red color. God knows when the banner was put, maybe two-thousand years ago.

"Alright guys, this is it. We need to go in now." I said, trying to sound motivating. "No matter what happens, we will stop Raptor. We are the DELTAs!" The last sentence sounded powerful and everyone slowly nodded in agreement. I took a deep breath and entered the cave. Others followed.

Inside was somehow totally dark, the moment we entered. No kind of light was present. We barely knew where the other was. "Xavier, can you help in any way?" Lily asked, getting a feeling Trance may be of some help. The sound of Xavier's Trance being unsheathed from the scabbard could be heard.

Not with much enthusiasm or confidence, Xavier said, "Um… Trance- could you somehow possible change into – like, you know- a flame sword?" He enquired. That would have been a dumb question to ask to any weapon expect for Trance. Immediately, Trance transformed into a flame sword. Xavier's hand held the grip, apparently not burning. The upper part of the sword was just like a fire lit on the ground. It flew in the air, sparks coming out, which made me wonder whether it had a real metal on top or not.

"Oh yeah! Follow me, friends." Xavier took the lead. As we continued moving forward, the cave progressed below. We walked for quite a long time till be were totally below the ground. The walls of the dungeon had some sort of writing. The language was unknown. After studying the writings for some time, Xavier moved his flame sword ahead and continued.

"I hope I knew what this meant…" Oliver muttered and walked ahead. The room kept becoming larger and wider till we heard another roar. It was really close, coming from ahead.

I gulped as I walked. Then I could hear some more sounds. The moving of feet, the clinking of chains and groans, they made me feel sick. Even a horror movie would have been a better choice – we at least weren't really present in it.

Before we knew it, we were standing in a total circular room, having a whole lot of writings on the stone walls, with some creature in the center. A pair of red eyes opened up. "A meal for me? Interesting…"
