"Brennan! I didn't expect to see you here!"
The sandy blond kneaded his temple with his free hand. "I live here Zeven, what do you want?"
Zeven ignored his friend, instead he looked at Mae, "Can I borrow these two for a few minutes? Thanks." As per usual he gave no one the time to respond as he began pulling Chris along. Seeing that Brennan wasn't moving, Zeven reached back and grabbed him by the arm and began dragging him as well.
Guiding the two of them down the hall, Zeven only loosened his grip once they were in the common room. He sat down on one of the plush chairs and propped his legs up on the foot rest, while Chris and Brennan fled to opposite sides of the room like the same sides of a magnet.
Brennan leaned over the top of a high backed chair, "Zeven, what do you want?" Zeven crossed his arms over his chest as he leaned back. "You're going to work through your problems. It is inconvenient for me."
Chris threw her head into the wall behind her while Brennan buried his face in the chair cushion.
"That is the dumbest thing-" "Are you serious-"
Chris and Brennan spoke in unison.
Zeven brushed off their comments as he smiled and moved his hand behind his head, crossing his legs on the footstool.
"Chris, I don't mind sharing Brennan with you as long as I am his favorite-"
"Are you kidding me? First off Brennan is not an object that you can 'share'; and second, you don't get to dictate what anyone else feels."
"Thank you for your contribution to the discussion, Brennan do you want to say anything?"
"Other than the obvious?"
While everyone stayed in their same spots, Brennan and Chris shifted. Chris stood up straighter and tried to assume a more commanding posture, as Brennan sunk further forward into the back of the chair.
"Lovely, just lovely, now we are all talking." Zeven smiled like a crocodile. It was almost too easy. Feelings were the easiest thing to manipulate, and as long as you knew who you were dealing with, you could get them to react in a way that benefited your goal. A common enemy is a simple way to bring two people closer.
