Chapter 3 - Chapter 3

The inside of the carriage was roomy and plush, unfortunately she couldn't enjoy either of those things because Zeven had already pushed her onto a bench and taken a seat across from her. She realized it would just be the two of them when Zeven slipped off his shoes and started to get comfortable. His long legs were bent and placed just close enough that his and her knees knocked into each other when there was a bump in the road. He leaned forward placing his elbows on his knees and resting his head on his hands, he wiggled his eyebrows at her. Chris sat ridgely trying to avoid touching him at all, she kept her eyes glued to the floorboard avoiding his gaze that she could feel.

Bored with the lack of reaction, Zeven leaned forward, bringing his face down into her gaze. Looking up at her with eyes so dark his pupils blended into the abyss. "Do you intend to beg for mercy?" His coy attitude was complemented by his curious eyes. "It's only fair I give you a chance to speak right?" Zeven batted his dark lashes. He looked so much younger here, almost like a child instead of the war hardened general he was. After waiting for her reply that didn't come, he shifted in his seat moving back to an upright position. Chris straightened her spine and tried to seem as large and threatening as possible. It wasn't much but it made her feel better to be able to look down at him, her eyes darted for a moment towards the covered window wondering if outside was any safer than being inside with the wolf.

There were so many of his soldiers outside that escaping was a pipe dream. Almost like reading her mind, he continued talking. "I have no interest in lying with a man who doesn't want me, if that's what you are frightened of." He paused for a moment, giving her a chance to speak- she did not. "But you are not immune to my charms I'm sure. I watched you watching me in the corridor. Did you like what you saw? How about giving me a word in opposition... else I may just continue thinking that you want me as badly as I want you. I have no problem with a man or a woman or even multiple women, multiple men, multiple men and women together. Provided, of course, they are all unopposed to the idea." Zeven laughed at his joke, which was less of a joke and more of a confession, even in Chris's refusal to speak he maintained his coy air.

"Not even then would you be willing to say anything to me, huh?" Laughing Zeven shook it off. "Well if that's the case I like silence just as much." He watched as she stared out the window. "You've probably already thought about this, but you're a lot safer in here with me than out there with them. Whereas I am alright with silence, but they may hold you until you scream." He chuckled again softly, Once again shifting in his seat he leaned his back into the cushing and slowly brought one foot up on each side of Chris, essentially pinning her down without even touching her..

"Chris."

"Christopher."

"No." he smiled a chilling smile, "Do behave, we have both had a long and trying day. I would appreciate it if you remained as quiet and still as you are now until we reach our destination."

He leaned his head back and closed his eyes. Breathing deeply and calmly he relaxed completely. Chris couldn't help but be incredibly frustrated, he had the gull to not only close his eyes in front of his enemy, but the audacity to fall asleep. She considered her options, but due to being pinned by his legs the only space she could move was forwards toward him. Escape seemed impossible from the carriage, but his cockyness would give her an advantage later, so she decided to wait for her chance to strike in the future. Turning her face to the window covered with red curtains she began thinking about her plan to escape once they reached their destination.
