Miane's POV
" Mother what did you do?"
My mother walking up and down.
" Mother what did you do?"
" I made a deal with Darrel, we have to kill you, If we don't Jade will someday not be able to control himself, and we will all die"
My eyes are big, the little hope I had to have a bond with my mother again is gone, she betrayed me again, she made me believe that she cares for me How could you, How could you do this to me, I trusted you, I even promised Jade to give it a change"
This woman standing in front of me, the women who was teaching me how to count, how to pray, how to bake cakes. The women who was teaching me how to ride a bicycle, this woman wants to kill me. This time I am crying nonstop my eyes bloodshot.
" Miane you don't understand there are good people out there, if I don't kill you, Darrel is going to kill my.... She kept quiet Kill your what mother?" I asked my words full of venom
" Kill your what mother"
" he's going to kill my son"
"Your son? Your son is dead, he died of cancer"
" No not your brother, after I turned I was taken in by vampires to help me and to make me accept who I was and to learn how to be a vampire, I came across a family who beat up their son, so I killed them and took him away, I had too"
At this moment I was furious I could kill my mother with my own bare hands, How could she do this to me, she left me as a little child and made a family of her own, she is willing to kill me, her own flesh and blood in order to safe a boy whom she rescued. Who is this woman?
" The boy is human, and he loves me as a mother, he knows who I am, and he loves me. When I first came here, my intentions was to help, but you never gave me a change. I could see the hate in your eyes, so I had to choose, you or Winston"
" Winston? That's his name? Well I hope he knows how lucky he is I said to her.
She grabbed her phone from her pocket. I tried to search how to get out, but she is a vampire she is way too fast.
" Yes she is here" I heard my mother say, whom I assume she is talking to Darrel.
" Mother, please don't do this? "
"Its to late Miane"
I heard a gush of wind coming through the windows there is fire everywhere.
" What the hell" my mother said. She ran to the door, but her hands burned instantly.
" What are you doing?" My mother said to Darrel over the phone. " No don't do this Darrel we had a deal, Darrel, Darrel?" My mother screamed but he cut the call. She tried searching for a way out. " What was he saying?" I asked her my eyes red the smoke circling the building, and we cannot escape. " He's killing both of us, and then he's going to kill my boy"
My mother still trying to get out, but the flames are too high. " Mother, stop it, there is no escape" she stopped, looked at me for a second why don't you try and escape?" I looked at her my face full of ash already the flames high, and I am out of breath. " Cause after all these years I will finally be able to say goodbye to you and know that you will die for real, and I will no longer have to worry about a vampire trying to kill me, or put Jade and the rest in danger, besides I'm tired of fighting a loosing battle.
I turned my back on her. Facing the flames.
" This will not end like this, He will die before he gets to my boy, even if it means killing you and me. Now I was scared, I knew what she was thinking, there is no way out
" mother don't, you don't have to do this"
I have to Miane, He's going to kill my boy"
" and what about me?"
My mothers tears are pouring out of her eyes we both starting to cough, the smoke is too much, and it keeps coming.
" Were going to die anyway, by this at least I will save my boy" I tried to run, and heard a familiar voice.
" Miane!!!!!!" Jade tried to get into the building Miane, please answer me!!"
I ran to the door, but my mother grabbed me from behind throwing me in the air to the other side of the building. " Jade" is all that manage to escape my lips. My leg cut with the glass from the windows that burst from the flames. I can't breathe anymore. " I am sorry Miane so sorry" And I felt a burn on my skin, my mother is actually draining the life out of me. She is not stopping, my body is on fire. All I can do is close my eyes and try to remember the good days. I know this is the end.
My eyes are closed and suddenly I am a small little girl again. I can see a white light, my father playing on the grass with my brother and me, my mothers blond hair running towards us, picking me up and holding me in the air, my father making jokes how he always wins at playing hide-and-seek. Mother winks at me. My brother putting too much candy in his mouth, and we all laughed. Mother taking out the plates and blanket to make a picnic. As a small little girl I kept hearing voices out in the woods. " Miane, Miane open your eyes, you have to open your eyes" I can hear Mr Lane telling Lizzy to hold my arm, my eyes opened for a second.
" I'm going to kill you, you bitch, why, why would you do this ?" Jades eyes are red and his pushing my mother from one side of the hall to the other side, punching her up in the air. Most of the smoke is gone, Celine, Mrs Lane and Riaan are busy taking out the flames with water. I cannot move, my body is on fire. I can feel every vein in my body turning to stone. I turned my head to look where Jade is, Mr Lane and Lizzy holding me down. " I am sorry I was such a disappointment to you" My mother said to me and fell to the floor. My body started to hyperventilate, I can feel myself slip away. My eyes closed and all I hear is I have to do this.
JADES POV
" I have to try, even if it means dying myself"
I said to Mr Lane. I am on my knees in front of Miane's lifeless body. She is not breathing anymore. " I have to do this now.
" Jade there is no guarantee that this will work, you sucking the venom out of her could kill her, even if you just go deep enough for the venom, we don't know if the serum won't kill us all instantly. I don't care about us, she needs to live, she cannot die"
I took her arm where her mother bit her, she didn't go deep enough for the serum to go into her veins, I could stop her before that happened. My eyes turned red and my full-blown vampire side came out" Jade do it now"
Lizzy said and I sanked my teeth inside her opened wound and started to suck the venom out, I could feel with every suck how the air leaves my lungs, but I have to save her. She is everything to me, I love her. As I suck on her open wound, my eyes full of tears seeing my lifeless girl lying on the floor, her face pale er soft skin looking grey. Her blond hair full of blood stains her clothes black from all the ashes and smoke. I keep asking with every breath that I take for her to wake up, I don't know how much longer I keep this going until I drain her. " Please Miane" I hear Lizzy pleading beside her I closed my eyes and remembered her soft skin, het lips her shiny blond hair always perfect and neat. The way she would always giggle when I kiss her in her neck. When she fell asleep and would always mumble first how uncomfortable my bed is. How she would always tease me about my cooking skills. Just as I was about to give up hope I heard Mr Lane says " Jade stop" Jade stop she is alive, you're going to deep the serum"
I stopped, her eyes still close. " Miane?" I pleaded, please baby open your eyes. You have to wake up, your safe now. Please baby I love you, my eyes full of tears, Lizzy, Mr Lane and Mrs Lane everyone standing around her.
Her eyes finally opened. Her wound looks bad. " How?" She asked, how is everyone still alive. My mother?"
" Jade sucked on the wound were your mother bit you, the venom could have killed you. Your mother didn't have a chance to drain all the blood. The serum only works if all the blood is drained from your body, so Jade took a change and suck the venom out" Mr Lane explained to her. My face pale and my eyes still red, it feels like Someone sucked the life out of me. Her eyes are wide, almost looks like she is scared of me. Her pale face full of questions. I'm still holding her back my eyes locked on the wound. I have tasted human blood before, but never in this way. I felt scared with every drop I drank from her. I don't know if it's the venom or if it was the pure love for her " Jade? Are you ok" I can't tear my eyes away from her wound, MR Lane look worried. Jade you need to let go of Miane now, .... Jade"
" I'm sorry" that's all I said. I jumped up and back away from her. " Jade are you ok?" Miane asked one more time. As I stare at her, something is happening to me, My body is on fire, Everyone's voices sound so far. Miane's small body still on the floor looking pale as shit. The building is starting to spin. What's happening to me? I cannot breath, I can feel my body starting to fail and I have no idea why. I know I did not suck deep enough for the serum to go into my blood stream. Or did I? Miane looks scared. I cannot handle this pain anymore. She is to perfect to go through this. If this is goodbye then I really hope she would find someone better, a life better than what I offered. " I love you" I said to her hoping that she will always love me and always remember me. And I dropped to the floor.
" Nooooooo"
