As the battle progressed Klautz was getting more and more exhausted. His stamina wasn't enough to hold out.
He could gulp down a stamina potion to get out of this situation. He had still 3 of them left in his inventory. But he chose otherwise.
'No there is no point. This is a losing battle. I should cut down my losses,' Klautz thought.
Sooner or later, Maebi was going to overpower him. So the best course of action would be giving in before Maebi could figure something out about him.
What's more? Maebi should have no idea that Klautz holds Stamina potions. One cannot simply 'peek' in another's inventory.
Klautz's spirit sword wriggled as it retraced back to his inventory. Klautz raised his arms high in the air, giving in.
"I give up on clearing this trial. Please spare my life. I can't win against you," Klautz had to go through the formalities.
