Chapter 7 - The Tables Have Turned II

"You picked the wrong enemy, Eris. You could cross anyone and I wouldn't even care but you made the biggest mistake of your life by killing my mother. I vow in front of your dying body, you're not the last black witch I'm going to kill. I'm going to hunt down the last of your kind until your race stops existing in this world."

"I-I'm b-begging you. S-spare m-my life. I-I will be your slave." Eris pleaded. The sound of her voice begging for her life was like music to his ears.

The black Witch Queen picked the wrong person to mess with.

He was Chaos the son of the two most powerful vampires in Zefhir. His father trained him to death at a very young age. His skills were exceptional because he molded them to reach their full potential. He was a heartless monster in war, even his enemies feared him enough to label him as the God Of War. Her pleas had no effect on his cold, hard heart. He knew no mercy, and he showed none.

"Too late, Eris. I couldn't save you. The poison I used on you is more potent than the poison you made. There was no antidote for the poison. Once it spreads to your brain, you will feel a burning sensation all over your body. It would be painful. It was a pain beyond imagination. You will feel as though you're being burned alive."

Eris opened her mouth to speak, but no words emerged from her now pale lips. Her body fell into spasm and she convulsed violently. Her agonizing screams filled the entire room.

"Don't move!"

Chaos froze in shock. He whirled in the direction where he heard the voice come from. His eyebrows scrunched in irritation as he looked for the intruder.

"I said don't move! I'll cut her head off if you move again!" The voice thundered inside the room. From the shadows, he saw a woman appear. His pitch black eyes glowing as they bore on him.

Another black witch! He thought in shock, but nothing had surprised him more than seeing the love of his life with a dagger positioned between her neck. Fierce fear clutched through his heart when a pair of tear stricken eyes met his gaze.

"Eliana." He achingly called her name. Her torn dress showed the bruises scattered all over her body. The black witch had severely beaten her! Anger swelled inside him until he felt as though he would erupt like a volcano.

"Drop your sword." The black witch ordered.

When Chaos refused to drop his sword, the black witch sliced Eliana's throat. The wound was shallow, but it was enough to let blood flow down and soak her white dress.

Chaos felt as though he had died at the moment as he watched tears fall down her cheeks. When her gaze dropped to his, his breathing stopped.

The sight of her body drenched in blood paralyzed his body with terror.

"Let her go!" Chaos roared. Though he wanted to slice the black witch's throat with his sword, he held himself still for his lover's sake.

The black witches had killed his loved one once. He wouldn't allow it to happen again. Not to Eliana. He couldn't afford to lose her. He'd rather die than watch her bleed to death in front of him.

His heart filled with rage for the race that had killed his mother and now kidnapped his lover.

Once he had his hand on the black witch, Chaos swore she would beg him for her life.

"Huh! I won't let her go. Do you think I'm stupid enough to let my hostage go? Drop your sword vampire prince before I killed your fiancée in front of you."

The black witch's eyes glittered menacingly. Chaos could see the intent to kill on those pitch black eyes. She sliced the dagger deeper into Eliana's neck, thus deepening the wound and increasing the flow of blood. "Drop the sword!!" the black witch screamed furiously..

Eliana weakly fell to her knees, her strength and energy drained from the severe loss of blood. Her once beautiful white dress turned into a shocking crimson. She looked pale too and her once red lips were dry.

Chaos knew what blood loss could mean to a vampire. They drink blood to keep their strength and power, but once they lose too much, a vampire wouldn't be able to regenerate their wounds, and they could lead to death. The cursed dagger the black witch used to slice Eliana's neck made regenerating impossible.

Chaos clenched his jaw until the veins on his neck popped up. If the blade cuts through one of her vital veins, she'll die instantly. He couldn't bear to watch his lover suffer because of him.

He must end this.

"Do just what I say and I'll let your lover go!"

Seeing Eliana's hopeless expression and tear-streaked eyes shattered his resolve. His hands loosened around Xavier but before he could drop it on the floor, she spoke.

"No! Don't listen to her, Chaos!" she pleaded. Her hand covered the wound on her neck to stop the bleeding.

He felt torn between his lover and his enemy.

He wanted to kill the black witch, but that means Eliana's life would be in danger.

Chaos felt like a failure for not being able to protect his fiancé e. He longed to take her into his arms and assure her he's going to protect her even if it costs him his life.

Eliana was his life. If she dies, he has no reason to continue living when he couldn't even protect the people he loves.
