Chapter 6 - The Tables Have Turned I

"I'll kill you then in the most painful way possible, future vampire King. Or should I just address you as Prince? It suits you better. You wouldn't live long enough to sit on the throne, anyway." Her high-pitched laughter filled the room.

Chaos clenched his jaw as he took a step forward.. "Shall we begin this bloodbath?"

"I hate violence, vampire prince. I'm better with poison than I am with a sword." A sinister smile crossed her face.

Chaos wanted to rip that smile off her face with his sword.

"You obviously did. Your poison has killed my mother!"

"Not that I have a choice. Your mother was on the way to ruin my plans." Eris' triumphant smile widened. There was a hint of satisfaction in her words, showing her lack of remorse for killing an innocent life.

Queen Amira, his mother, despite being born as a full-blooded vampire, never once hurt anyone. The gentle Queen looked over her kingdom as if all the residents were a member of the family. She was too gentle and too trusting for her own good. Chaos hated her for being born that way because he knew the same kindness would get her killed. He wasn't mistaken.

It was his opinion that one must be cruel, tough, merciless, and apathetic to dominate this world. Kind creatures like her mother don't belong in this god-forsaken world. If one wished to survive, he must be crueler than this world.

"Do you know why I poisoned her?"

"Isn't your evilness enough reason you killed her?" He snarled, exposing a pair of sharp fangs.

Eris firmly raised her chin defiantly, ignoring his sarcastic remark as she continued. "Because your whore of a mother took my man. Laxmus was mine, and she stole him from me."

Chaos glowered at her. The lowly black witch queen has no right to insult his mother. "Don't you dare call her whore! She was the Queen Zefhir, and you are nothing but a shameless murderer!" If words could only stab a person, the Witch Queen would be fatally wounded by now and bleeding on the floor.

"How dare you!" She screamed.

The cool demeanor she showed Chaos vanished in an instant.

"If father ever loved you, he should have chosen you instead of her!"

Her face contorted in an ugly mask of rage, and she started screaming. "I swear I will kill you too!" Veins at her neck bulge furiously.

"Kill me then, and I shall retaliate with expected ferocity." He will risk his life just to avenge his mother.

His eyes burned with vengeance as he gazed at the depths of her pitch-black iris.

A fireball whooshed past him, missing him by an inch. His sharp eyes saw another one coming. He swung his sword, cutting the fireball in half before it landed on the floor.

The witch Queen growled in frustration as she realized there was no way her power could defeat him. Her power was lethal, but it was useless unless she could hit him.

"You act like your actual age black witch queen. Can you move faster?"

Chaos jumped backward when Eris lunged at him with a dagger in her hand. She aimed straight at his chest, but he caught her wrists shortly before she could stab him. He twisted her wrists until the dagger dropped to the floor.

Not done yet, Chaos lifted Xavier and swung the blade into her neck. Eris dodged his attack, but the force of her movement sent her sprawling on the floor. The tip of his sword hit her on her priced face, carving a deep scar into her cheeks.

Realizing blood was dripping from her cheeks, Eris screamed in rage.

"My face! What have you done to my beautiful face?"

"It's over Eris. I could finally avenge my mother's death."

She willed herself to get up. Realizing she couldn't move, her eyes went wide with alarm. Once more, she summoned all the force she could muster to get up, but she barely moved an inch when her head fell limp on the floor.

"I-I c-can't m-move!" Eris screamed, her eyes bulge with terror.

His lips curled into a sadistic smile as he watched her desperate attempt to move, but failed again. He knew her body was becoming numb. Another ten more minutes and Eris would be dead from the same poison she used to kill his mother.

Firmly clutching Xavier, he crossed the gap between them. As he did so, he never once took his gaze off her tortured face. He wants to watch her twist with agony until her last breath.

"Y-you poisoned me! Y-you put it in your sword!" Her face twisted into an ugly mask of rage. She continued to scream on his face.

His lips curled into a smile, knowing she can't do more than that.

"Took you so long to figure it out."

Struggling, she moved her hand to launch a fireball in his direction, but the poison was spreading quickly through her system, draining her strength. Her hand dropped to the floor. This time, even her fingers refused to move.

The poison finally paralyzed her entire body.
