Chapter 239 - Chapter 239 Optimistic nihilist

Deva woke up with Core still holding her between her arms, no matter how much she attempted to get away, Core's arms wouldn't bulge.

One might presume that Core was still sleeping, but Deva won't be fooled by Core once again.

"Core? Are you still asleep?" Deva sweetly said, and there was no mistake, that there was a hint of coyness in her voice.

The two were so close that Deva decided to directly whisper into Core's ear. "My body is a bit sore, do you perhaps know why?" This was enough to send shivers into Core's heart, but Core still didn't show anything yet.

Deva then playfully trailed circles into Core's neck with her finger bringing further arousal to Core, but not enough to make her crumble. There wouldn't be any fun in doing that anytime soon. "Hey? Weren't you touching me last night?" Deva pressed her body against Core.

"You were so eager last night." Deva purred with a low voice, "Why don't we..." It was at the highest of the moment that Deva softly blew into Core's ear, earning a small shaky sigh.

"There you are! That's better!" Deva brightly smile the moment Core opened her eyes.

"How much did it cost for you to play along?" Core pouted, still not letting go of Deva.

"As if you weren't the one acting being flustered." While Deva did huff, she did not do anything to escape from Core's arms, and instead leaned towards her without teasing her.

For the two, the warmth of the other was really pleasant, that was especially for Core, who had yearned for years for Deva's warmth, even if Deva did not have any romantic feelings towards her, Core was satisfied by just being with Deva.

"You know," Core spoke. "Philosophically speaking, I think that a good percent of you is an optimistic nihilist."

"Oh? Why is that?" Deva laughed as if such a thing was absurd. The concept of "Nihilism" was something that Deva learned long ago on a planet called Earth.

"You are a being that knows how meaningless everything is, after all you witnessed how "Everything" will truly end." Deva nodded, listening to Core.

"But I know you did not despair like the many beings that came to know this fact, the memories of the visitor who visited us can prove how many if not all of the immortal beings fell into the pit despair and never recovered from it."

"It is indeed sad that such beings can feel like mortals." Despite saying that, Deva had a smirk on her face.

"You, however, did not. Or at least did despaired but embraced such fact, accepted that you'll die no matter you do. That you'll die even if you escape into another universe. That you'll die even if you stregthen yourself to the limit. There is no meaning in surviving, there is no meaning in becoming the highest being." Core continued as she felt Deva's warmth. Such warmth was so comforting with the cold truth they were given long ago. "Your tendencies in wanting to experience everything intensified. You want to experience everything and you are still attempting it. It is an unending goal, after all.

"Doesn't this just make me a crazy bitch?" Deva countered.

To that, Core nodded, "You are also a crazy bitch with insane tendencies and even with an insane libido. A crazy slut but also an optimistic nihilist since you found a meaning and what makes you happy."

"Bah, aren't you just insulting me with the pretense of flattering?" Deva left Core's arms. She was now facing her with a neutral expression.

"However, you are also right..." Deva sighed as she closed her eyes, "The vastness and greatness of this "Everything" just made it even more bleak and meaningless. There is no way of destroying it or conquering it. I am the one who made it impossible to do. There is no true fulfillment in completing something. It is indeed true that ignorance is bliss. But..." Deva voluntarily fell into Core's arms, "Knowing all this does not stop me from eating delicious food, meeting new people, developing relatioships, feel pleasure, have fantastic baths and nights. I want to do the things that makes me happy even if such concept is paradoxical with the actions I've made."

"Then, should we just spend the day like this?" Core said with a small smile.

"Yes..."

Deva then closed her eyes.
